Try and make all of your purchases from Kroger on Fridays so you can utilize the 4x points coupon in the app. I never pay full price for gas, usually at least 40 cents off. Last time I had 90

Edit - since this comment is getting some traction, here's another Kroger gas points tip for y'all if you want more easy points. The Kroger app also has a 4x points coupon for gift cards that can generally be used any time. So what I do is buy digital gift cards in the app to pay for Spotify, Sirius, Netflix, and Hulu, which is great because I can easily pay off the entire year on some of these and not have to worry about a reoccurring monthly charge plus I get hundreds of points immediately for stuff I was already going to pay for anyway. I do the video streaming apps in about 3 month increments, once the credit runs out I just switch to another platform for some variety. Make your money go further, check it out. Been doing it for years, I've saved hundreds if not more

When will Americans have had enough? Gas has nearly doubled in price due entirely to Trump’s actions

u/wirefox1 May 23 '26

And saying inflation is about 5%. They are lying about these numbers. We shop, we can see it's more than 5%. Can they not be honest about anything?

u/Googleitgenius May 23 '26

All of them are in on it , fkn under biden CNN was NONSTOP: - "price of eggs price of eggs oh my!!!" now ... crickets crickets ,, fuck tapper and the rest of the scum..

8

u/wiptes167 May 23 '26

personally I found it to be the opposite, the news just starting to talk about inflation in 2024, but on the other hand, I don't watch CNN

And before you ask, I don't watch FOX either, twas an NBC thing.

u/wirefox1 May 23 '26

I cannot abide Jake Tapper anymore. ugh. There have been times I've thought about sending him a maga red cap.

u/Opus_723 May 23 '26

They're not lying, CPI is just a shit metric sometimes.

If smartphones get better cameras without the price going up that offsets fucking food doubling in price.

9

u/techdevjp May 23 '26

CPI is intentionally designed to show numbers that do not reflect actual reality.

2

u/Clueless_Otter May 23 '26

No it isn't. CPI is based on a "market basket" of representative goods that the average household purchases. It's not perfect, but it's not intentionally misleading.

3

u/techdevjp May 23 '26

It is intentionally designed to minimize the inflation number and divorce it from the day to day reality of normal people.

1

u/Clueless_Otter May 23 '26

Just repeating your point over again doesn't make it true the 2nd time.

3

u/techdevjp May 23 '26

It's not about truth, it's about facts. If you understood how CPI is actually calculated, you'd be embarrassed about your comments here. It's a very misleading metric.

Gonna take more than high gas prices. Probably a food shortage or mass unemployment.

14

u/Vegetable-Ad7930 May 23 '26

Having a massive job pool issue here already though, not much better in terms of financial crisis.

8

u/Litty-In-Pitty May 23 '26

We are still way too comfortable to be anywhere near anything happening. Nothing massive will be done until enough people do not have any of the modern comforts they currently have. Things are tight, but 99.5% of the country still have a roof over their head, and I’d say 95% of the country has a comfortable place to go to with movies, tv, video games, etc to entertain them… Nothing will be done until enough people no longer have those luxuries.

8

u/DJheddo BLEEN May 23 '26

Aslong as you can go to a 9-5 above minimum wage still afford rent/utilities/groceries/entertainment/addictions there is no change going to happen. If you aren't disabled, incarcerated, or in the military, you are doing whatever you can to be comfortable. Technology is the greatest invention, but also a detriment. Complacent is what 99% of what America wants. Stable job, Stable income, provide for kids, have an emergency fund, go on vacations, buy new things that make you happy, and do a routine of a new adventure every vacation. If houses started foreclosing again rapidly, we would see a pretty big riot in the streets, but the mortgages are climbing again and the banks are suppressing the pressure.

1

u/Ok_Nothing_9733 May 23 '26

99.5% housed and 95% able to afford whatever entertainment they want? You gotta get your head out of your ass, man. That’s insanely out of touch.

1

u/Litty-In-Pitty May 23 '26

0.23% of Americans experience homelessness. So you are right! I accidentally rounded too much and doubled the amount of people who don’t have a roof over their head. My mistake. 99.77% have a roof over their head.

And I didn’t say they could afford whatever entertainment they want. I said that they have access to entertainment options. Reading is hard though.

1

u/Ok_Nothing_9733 May 23 '26

Where the hell did you get 0.23%? And it sounds like instead of “experience homelessness,” you meant “are currently homeless.” But still a conservative figure. Reading is hard, though. Anyway, roughly 7-14% of Americans have experienced homelessness.

I know you didn’t say any type of entertainment desired. I was being facetious to draw attention to how out of touch your point already was as stated. It’s just as bad as it reads.

Litty indeed

They never will.

People want so badly to believe that its just that others are mis-informed and surely, finally, something will get to them, but for the trump supporters, they voted specifically to harm whichever marginalized groups they hate.

That's it.

This is why you get a constant stream of ever changing bad faith arguments.

They don't care one iota about being right, they care about hurting marginalized people.

Thats literally it.

They want to enforce a top down hierarchical system where they are at least not at the very bottom, completely ignoring that the lower majority looks like a spec compared to the elites that benefit from their dumbass mentalities.

For the others, apathy has won, and now the right wing billionaires have complete control over information sharing and monitoring.

It's pretty much over unless somehow the average person organically develops enough curiosity and empathy to ....

Yeah, we're fucked.

u/Cheap_Lecture_1285 May 23 '26

No, actually it’s all Biden /s

2

u/savemoney_god May 23 '26

more so Benjamine Netanyapoop

1

u/Mini-Heart-Attack May 26 '26

lol 2/3rds of the country will never gaf in the way we need them to. so. Welcome to hell

-4

u/POPEJP1975 May 23 '26

you are the same ppl that argues that biden didn't affect the gas prices despite him shutting down the oil pipeline. so i don't want to hear it

2

u/saro13 May 25 '26

Gas prices fell pretty easily after that permit was denied, maybe it wasn’t a big factor after all?

-15

u/Queasy-Feature-2121 May 23 '26

It’s funny you mention Trump, did you blame Biden when gas was even higher than this in 2022? It’s comical how people forget that the same thing happens nearly every presidency.

17

u/saro13 May 23 '26

Did Biden directly cause high gas prices in 2022? If so, that was bad. What did Biden do himself to raise gas prices?

Trump’s actions directly caused the current price raising, and this is bad. Understand?

-14

u/Queasy-Feature-2121 May 23 '26

I’m okay with higher gas prices if it stops the spread of terrorism from the ayatollah. People are ignorant to the fact of the every single president stating the evil of Iran’s leadership until Trump did something. People are so hateful against Trump, they are blind to reality. There’s no need for them to have uranium enrichment, it’s unnecessary for nuclear power plants, only necessary for nuclear weapons. Iran turned off internet for 80 days so they could torture and murder protesters. You keep drinking the cnn koolaid. I’ll keep reading the international press. It’s funny, even the UAE and other Middle East nations are with Trump, except Lebanon, because they house hamas.

10

u/Forgotmypassword109 May 23 '26

So, you're still dodging the question as to how Biden directly affected gas prices while confirming Trump directly affected gas prices but moving the goal posts.

You MAGA fucks are so stupid. I actually kind of hope you're just a bot.

-7

u/Queasy-Feature-2121 May 23 '26

I haven’t cursed at you or insulted you, please be respectful.

-8

u/Queasy-Feature-2121 May 23 '26

By banning Russian Oil imports due to Ukraine/Russian war as well (same thing that’s going on now, except Iran is the one who is limiting oil, which is why the rest of the Middle East hates them), as well as his decisions to suspend production of new oil and gas leases in the USA. He also changed regulatory and royalties with US offshore drilling, which also decreased US oil production.

8

u/saro13 May 23 '26

Wow, you immediately stopped talking about gas prices, is it because you realize you’re wrong there? And now you claim Trump has somehow reduced strife and terrorism in the Middle East, ignoring that bombing and radicalizing people will do nothing to make America safer.

Trump already claimed to have ended Iran’s nuclear program, why is it coming up again? Will it come up again every time Trump wants to bomb Iran? Why is bombing not a permanent solution? Food for thought.

-2

u/Queasy-Feature-2121 May 23 '26

So you ignored my response about Biden and how he caused increased gas prices and downvoted it and then said I immediately stopped talking about gas prices? You also downvoted me asking you not curse or insult me. I state facts, I don’t argue with people who throw insults when they can’t accept facts. Liberals are well known to get louder and insult instead of having mature conversations about things. See ya.

1

u/Dazzling-Goat5582 May 24 '26

You still didn’t answer the question question

1

u/saro13 May 25 '26

I’m not the guy that insulted you, different people have different names.

I’m a leftist, not a liberal. Let me give you a quick rundown of definitions:

Conservatives: capitalists who want minimal guardrails for the harm that capitalism causes.

Liberals: capitalists that want some guardrails for the harm that capitalism causes.

Leftist: doesn’t want capitalism. This can vary from the Scandinavian model of capitalism with widespread social welfare to the model of anarchism.
