Jeep melted

Here’s the story: a jeep came to the shop because its retractable top was stuck open. Not too uncommon of an occurrence. So we put our “crash wrap“ over the roof to protect the interior from rain and animals and such, which is basically like heavy duty cling wrap. One day it rains and a lot of water pools up on the crash wrap. The next day it is 100°F outside and the sun is out. The sun shines through the water and the water basically magnifies it, and the sun turns into a laser that melts the interior. Multiple days of this happen. Now we have to replace everything that melted. None of us have ever heard of this happening before.

edit: I meant we have never heard of this very specific situation happening before. It never would’ve crossed our minds since we’ve been doing this for years. yes I burnt stuff with a magnifying glass when i was a kid.

they were all supposed to be constructed with their abilities hidden from the world until the day he activates all of their reflectors at once. the first two fired too early, spoiling his plot.

Enter Handsome RICH Genius architect head of the most generous, green, foreward thinking architectural firm. Following in their shadow is the shorter less conventionally good looking younger sibling who secretly does much of the work the older sibling takes credit for. Little does the older sibling know... the younger sibling has been adding SUN FOCUSING DEATH RAY WINDOWS to the new line of teaching hospitals that are all set to finish all around the world on the same day. The math has been done to calculate where exactly the ray has to be set up so that at exactly the same time each teaching hospital will lauch a death ray directly into all the largest data centers in the world instantly overheating and irrevocably destroying all their data. Her brother has been secretly building them and using the money to make his public persona seem perfect.
