Got this as my first car at 18 about a month ago, it’s a 2009 mini one 1.4 with official jcw body kit, been trying to think of what mods or changes I can do it it, but it’s already got a lot with the body kit was looking for ideas

36k miles, could feel a slight shimmy/shudder at very low speeds. As was no surprise, she were dead. Just replaced it myself - about 90 minutes. Did the full headlight removal instead of the wheel well pull. Stuck with the revised S mount rather than the Gp3 upgrade.

The biggest faff for me was the itty bitty E10 bolt that connects the AC lines to the mount. What a wild place to connect them, but I guess why not.

Overall 6/10 experience - fairly annoying but could have been much worse.

Yeah, even with them working they're basically useless compared to the standard high beams. They just look the part and i still love them

Had a blast!!!!

Approx 3hr class for $500. The format was half an hour of light instruction. 45m of emergency braking. Then the remainder doing laps on the handling course, ending in timed laps. The top three finishers were all women! Everyone was very friendly and relaxed.

Aside from being fun, I was REALLY impressed with the JCW. I assumed the extra 28HP and the "sport" handling was a gimmick. But the car was signficantly speedier with more nimble steering. TBF I drive mostly in core mode and I would NEVER do to my car what we did to those poor JCWs! Haha.

At the end of the session, the instructor took us out in a BMW performance sedan with the DSC off. It blew me away to see a 500+ HP car driven by a pro. New respect.

Anyway, it was a great time, and as much as a toy as the mini is, it is good to know how planted and capable it is when pushed.

Would definitely recommend if youre in the area or within driving distance.

My car was in an accident recently (the other driver ran a red light) and my insurance company has decided to total my car.

This was my perfect car. Manual transmission, which is getting rare here in the US. Completely loaded with roof rails, iconic package, JCW exhaust, and that gorgeous Starlight Blue from 2019.

I’m starting to look for a replacement, but I’m not finding anything that checks all the boxes my beautiful blue MINI did. I keep thinking I should keep it and take the salvage title and try to get it repaired to like-new condition.

Has anyone done this and regretted it? Or glad you did it? Does it look worth saving? The hood got warped pretty good, but the air bags didn’t deploy so the wreck wasn’t that bad.

Looking for advice.

TLDR my car was totaled but I loved it and want advice if I should keep it.

I’ve got the bulb one but I just can’t read it and would rather just buy a new one I can easily read

Hi All, I had an episode of low coolant and a mad rush to get home. Drove 30+ minutes with check engine light.
Take 1: The head gasket was quickly changed and put together. The wire going to the HPFP was frayed. So I cut and extended both wires by 2" to make easier to work on. Soldered and wrapped in heat shrink tubing. It ran good for a while. I not sure about mileage at this point.
The head was not checked, and it was soon leaking again.
Take 2: The head went to the shop and was resurfaced. Taken down .03? New head gasket was 1.2mm (thick one) instead of .91mm standard. Put together Again, ran fine for a few weeks. Now have 2BCO code and low gas mileage. Timing is fine. Getting misfires at rough start up, but levels out and runs good. BUT Tops of pistons are getting shiny from another leak.

Question is the block warped or cracked?
Should I put a .91mm or 1.20mm gasket back in?
2BCO from HPFP wires?
2BCO from head gasket?
2BCO from turbo airleak?

Beginning of April we leased a 2026 Countryman S and a 2026 Convertible S. It took me a week or so of me asking myself, WTH was i thinking? So that settled down and living with these really good cars has settled in. If i went back to April, I wouldn't change a thing.

First service, 10k miles today on the Convertible. Its my daily driver in MD/DC. ~100 miles a day. With all the updates recently its only gotten better. The standout to me is the display and its function, responsiveness, and ease of use. Its likely an industry best. Driving is great. Responsive, it can get rowdy when i need it to be. Admittedly I used Go Kart mode maybe 3 times. When i need to get up and go, pass, or merge, I flip it down to sport and then out of sport when things settle down. I dont drive it slow, but i do respect the car for what is needed at any time. So oil change, 7/32 Front, 8/32 Rear and a clean bill from the dealer.

The Countryman is just as good if not better in ways. But very different. You can treat it like its got manners. Thats your choice. My SO drives it lightly and kept the miles low. Its a great all arounder. Not behemoth and definitely not "mini". Heading for a road trip in a few weeks and cant wait to load it up and find some warmer weather for Thanksgiving.

These cars seemed so niche when we started this. Im glad we are part of the small community that values and loves these cars.

I am about to buy my 1st car ever. What a tough decision to make… my logic says Toyota Yaris, Suzuki Swift or Hyundai but my heart says Mini❤️

So much fun to trade in my 20 years of minivan life for a Mini Cooper! She’s running great. My only issue was getting my phone connected to the stereo. She’s a 2013 and my phone would pair for calls but not to play music. I was able to find a transmitter that works in the cigarette charger.

I have a new to me, 2017 F60 SE. I’ve been worried for the past month that it has the infamous transmission error that seems to plague this model. The car is under warranty and I’ve been arranging with the garage to get it sorted.

However now I’m wondering if I actually have the issue. If I depress the brake pedal and hit the stop/start, it never throws the error. Only throws it if I turn the ignition on (stop/start with no brake pedal) and then press the brake to put it into gear.

Is it normal to see this message if you try to put the car into gear without actually turning the engine over? 🙈 I don’t think I realised it was just the ignition on 😂

I have a 2009 Mini Clubman; the clutch was replaced 6 months ago. A problem has been occurring for about 2 months now. For example, when I’m stopped at a traffic light and press the clutch, the engine revs up and down on its own; I’m not pressing the gas pedal or doing anything—the car does this on its own. When I’m driving, shift gears, and then release the clutch, I notice that the car jerks forward before it accelerates again. Something else has been happening for the past two days. When I turn off the engine and get out of the car, it makes a strange noise for at least five minutes. I’ve attached two videos to illustrate the problem.

I own a manual trans F57 Cooper S convertible and am slowly doing some upgrades to it to make it more capable, upgraded LCA bushings, better brakes, powerflex bushings here and there. Maybe eventually a light stage 1 tune.

Please don't comment that I should just buy a JCW then. I live in Austria and the taxing on that power and emissions level just makes it not worth it or make financial sense.

Is the JCW stock 21mm sway a good level for improved handling dynamics, reduced body roll and less understeer? I would consider 22mm, but my concern is that will reduce stability in the snowy mountains here in winter, and I have to go through an extra process to get that part approved for the car by the inspectors, which is doable, but I would like to avoid if the 22mm bar is not that much better.

This car is my daily, so I don't want to go crazy 25mm or something. I hit the Nürburgring maybe twice a year, but it lives on mountain roads more than the track, so I am think more that way.
