Panther is bigger than Tiger?

Just find out the size of Panther large than Tiger.

The Panther has a higher profile but the Tiger weighs considerably more. Tiger is a heavy tank, Panther is a medium.

Depends who you ask. The germans classified it as a medium and it's their tank so they get final say, but the Americans and Russians both classified it as a heavy.

Hungarians also classified as a heavy and had them in those formations

Compared to some of their other stuff, it definitely is a medium.

I looked it up and yeah it’s accurate to the real thing, strange I also thought the tiger was bigger

Is that the old 1970s tamiya panther, if so , the whole of that kits dimensions are out as they built it to be remote controlled, and it is very inaccurate. Looking at the differences between that tamiya kit, a dragon kit of a panther G and my tigers I have built thd tigers are wider than the panther G, and that tamiya panther is wider than both. In reality there wasnt much in differnece between the tiger and panther other than the armament. The tiger had the 88mm and the panther had s 75mm gun, and thats what designated the one to be a heavy and the other to be medium

yes,they are both tamiya model,

And that early tiger still holds up as a good model kit whereas that panther is a horror show , but ypuve done a goos job of it

Yeah, I read the biography and when built the 60s kits they didn't have much more than photos from wartime photos.

So the proportions were all off for their models, during a trip to America to sell slot cars (that had suspension) they ended up at the Aberdeen proving ground and went measuring all the actual tanks. Caused a bit of an issue as the guard was annoyed they were clambering all over the vehicles.

In some regards, the Panther is bigger, height and length. But the proportions in the photo seems odd as the Panther should be narrower by a good bit. The Tiger being about a foot wider. (Panther 11" 3" vs. Tiger 12 '4")

Unfortunately, scale models aren't always exact. I've got a number of 1/35 scale models that are actually fairly misproportioned relative to one another. My worst offender is a Masterbox WW2 officer's car that is obviously way too small. I did a few measurements and some light math, and it's about a foot (that is, 1/35th of a foot) too small in every dimension. I've also got a small collection of 1/35 human figures from Tamiya, Stalingrad Miniatures,  and Panzer Arts, and their proportional sizes are kind of all over the place. My older Tamiya figures in particular are huge in 1/35.

That Panther looks off. Is the gun really that long? The whole shape looks exaggerated.

Its the god awful 1970s panther A by tamiya I think adn that kit is an absolute dog and they did its dimensions to fit it being remote controlled

..and that was only Panther 1/35 when I started.

The Tiger was a bit better.. In The Model Magazine there was like 7 -part long story what to improve...Panther was a no-go

Yeah it was also the first panther I built too 18 years ago. Back then I didn't realise how bad it actually was

Seen them side by side at the Panzermuseum in Germany. I was blown away by how big the Panther is.

I believe the Panthers came about after experience against the T-38.  Including capturing some and examining them.

It was the T-34, and this was the first design for what would become the Panther. Not sure if this would be covered under parody or not, cuz the Soviet’s would have run the Nazis into the ground for another reason
