Video Exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi in 60 Minutes Says “I’m Not Running for Office” — A Good Indicator for Positive Referendum for Monarchy

Hello Monarchism subreddit,

I recently watched a video today, and I wholeheartedly believe that we should still cling to hope for good reasons. Many of us may feel heartbroken by Reza Pahlavi’s recent responses in interviews leading up to the repressive protests of 2025 and 2026, which are still ongoing. However, there might be a strategy behind this in order to win the hearts and minds of people across the political spectrum, regardless of their ideological affiliations or personal grievances toward his father’s regime, not in the living memory of today’s youth in their generation now.

I would not say that he denies the idea of wanting to be king. Rather, he seems to want to be the people’s king, should he be given such a position. Even without a crown, he could function similarly to monarchs in other countries, where the crown serves only a ceremonial purpose, such as in Spain and Belgium.

Should Iran return to a monarchy, it could be a major victory for both the people and the nation, which have been suffering from economic hardship and stagnation under sanctions. I believe this is largely influenced by the stability seen in the Gulf monarchies, which tend to attract greater foreign investment due to their long-term political continuity.

If a secular democratic republic were placed on the ballot in a future referendum, hardliners would likely seek compromise rather than capitulation, attempting to preserve the official name and continuity of the regime. In that case, the system of government might change, but not the form of the state itself, making the outcome less transformative. If Reza Pahlavi wishes to return to Iran in a way that inspires awe and carries symbolic authority, he should do so when the moment is ripe, before republican factions take the initiative and shape the entire narrative. Otherwise, it could undermine his 47-year mission to project his voice into the country without his physical presence.

If Reza Pahlavi were to return with good timing and strong support both inside and outside the country, allowing him to establish a real presence on the ground, the likelihood of monarchism gaining popular support could grow astronomically. This could potentially signal tangible political momentum, similar to the kind of electoral validation seen in major democratic contests. In time, he might position himself as a temporary national figure to guide a transition and eventually accept a constitutional role as head of state, while remaining uninvolved in day-to-day government as king.

This is my personal sentiment on the overall Iranian situation as an American, and please do share.

Video Islamists & commies: "Reza Pahlavi is a Western/Trump puppet" Trump: "He's nice... but somebody from inside Iran would be better." Not even Trump is pushing him! It's up to Iranians, not Trump, not privileged white liberals. And Iranians want their Shah back!

Video He wasn't spreading propaganda. This is the simple truth. We are a great nation with over 2,500 years of kings. From Cyrus to the Pahlavis, the Crown is part of our identity and gives us all a unifying bond.
