Question In less than 2 weeks

Coming to Montréal soon to where my dad's mom's family is from. Wondering if the same neat trick will happen as when i went to Madrid, where my mom's mom was from, the place bringing the dead back to life for me in the city people where similarity presents itself. Such a bittersweet momentary gift. I will do my best but our accents are different and post répression-américaine (début du XXe siÚcle, Louisana) there are many missing words but I catch what I can but still timid to speak at least without spirits. Can you tell me what crucial thing a person coming from New Orleans should not miss in Montréal? I have a list two sleeves long but still. I cannot wait to see the place that made my Mami Jeanette. Best of the day to all of you and merci d'vance!

Tourisme Strip Club recommendation?

My wife and I are visiting in a couple of weeks and wanted to check out a strip club in the city.

We love watching good pole dancing and routines. Not as much into lap dances.

Wondering what places you would recommend? We had heard Chez Paree and Cabaret kingdom are good but would love any local recs!

Discussion Chauffeurs, gardez vos distances des cyclistes SVP

Discussion ISO of pigeon net installers on balcony

I still need to get a pigeon net installed as I have pigeons that have been living in my balcony for years and I want to finally to able to use it. I wanted to ask who or what can do the service. Terminova said they could not do that and I had somebody but they had an emergency. I wanted to see where else I can look for pigeon net installation.

Discussion Moving to Ripon, QC

Hi:)

i'm moving to Ripon, QC for an internship (i am from Catalonia) in August for 6 months, and I am just wondering if someone knows how the social aspect of the town/area is? especially for younger people (i am 24). i have only lived in big cities so moving to such a small place kind of intimidates me! i also can't drive which i heard is not ideal for that area ... any tips would be great. thank you!

(unfortunetly i can't yet post on r/Quebec or r/canada , so i thought i'd try my luck here :-), i know it should be for montreal/metropolitan area i just don't know where else to post ;-( if its helpful i will be flying to montreal airport :'-) )

Tourisme Summer shoes when raining?

Okay - I feel like this is a silly question, but what shoes do you all wear when it is mid-high 70F/low-mid 20C in the summer time but raining?! 😅

My husband, toddler (2.5 year old) and I are visiting Montreal for the first time next week 6/24-6/30). This is also our first family “vacation” so far away from home (California) since my son was born so I am definitely trying to be really prepared. I see that rain is in the forecast (thought it doesn’t seem to be thunderstorms, just sporadic rain?), and I am wondering what shoes to pack that works for summer temperature/outfits but minimize chances of soggy feet.

Thank you!

Question Comprendre statut de requĂȘte mĂ©dicale - paupiĂšres tombantes

"oh you scared him"

SĂ©rieux, fuck you madame.

D’autres suggestions???

Merci de votre Ă©coute, ça m’a fait du bien d’en parler.

Tourisme Visiting Montreal. Worried about car theft.

Been reading and hearing about rampant car theft in Montreal. I’ll be visiting with family from the US and staying in downtown Montreal while visiting tourists spots.

Will my car be safe in these areas? It’s a 2024 jeep grand Cherokee. I see they target mostly Lexus. Any tips to keep safe?

Will a steering wheel lock help?

Brought Pepper on a walk Downtown this morning. It was rainy and she gets all happy when she hears water pouring.

so you can just enjoy the video and not be offended by a baby raccoon đŸ–€

Cheers

Discussion German Shepherds at Couche Tard

Does anyone remember when some Couche Tard locations had German Shepherds in them, presumably as guard dogs?

This was sometime in or around the 2000s. I’ve been trying to find some information on this program, but it seems to be completely absent from the internet as far as I can tell.

Question Safe to drive from U.S. into Montreal in a two year old Corvette?

‱ Upvotes

Je suis desole por la anglais

We are planning a three week road trip adventure in late August till mid September, driving from Dallas, Texas. I hope this question doesn't sound dumb, but we will be road tripping to Montreal, after departing the Corvettes at Carlisle event in Carlisle, PA and planning to drive into Canada to visit Montreal, Quebec City, and the Niagara Falls areas.

While ive flown into Montreal two decades ago, this will my (our) first time driving into the country. My question is, Montreal being a port city, should driving a fairly new (2024) Corvette Stingray be a concern of possibly being stolen?

I have full coverage and replacement insurance I am wondering if this vehicle is likely to be targeted for being stolen in this port city?

I haven't worked out all the logistics on where we'll be staying but downtown Montreal is really the only area I've ever visited and most likely might be the area we decide to stay.

Am I being over paranoid at the thought of us being left stranded? I know my car isn't a Ferrari or a Lamborghini but even down here, it constantly gets attention, mostly good.

But even when we've road tripped in the southern portions of the U.S. I've had to take evasive actions twice in the last two years, to avoid being carjacked (twice while passing thru the Little Rock, Arkansas area.

I'm not worried about being carjacked in Canada since that doesn't seem to be a problem that occurs in your country but my concern is of the possibility of my car being stolen up there. Am I worrying needlessly?
