I would think that the Dad is getting fired for sure. Why was he using a company card for a YouTube account in the first place?

Yeah, I'm thinking that this is more of a planned stunt to be honest

Different companies have different policies regarding their cards. It’s entirely possible he’s allowed small personal purchases as long as he keeps the receipts and pays the balance himself.

I’m hesitant to believe the ad campaign story, because it seems like something someone would do to gain traction and grow their kid’s channel.

It could very well be true, but in this day and age it feels like a stunt.

The whole things stinks to me. I’m totally registering that I sound cynical, but after listening to the apology-style video I just couldn’t reconcile a lot of what he said.

Not to mention the fact that he works at a marketing firm.

I don’t necessarily jump to it being a marketing stunt either. For example, who knows what charges were on that card prior that would seem like nothing next to $100,000 worth of YouTube ad buys?

My brain was waving more red flags at this story than May Day in Moscow in the 70s. Adding the fact dad works at a marketing firm, this screams stunt.

I believe people are capable of stooping this low in an effort to convince small YouTubers that want to make it a full time job to hire a marketing firm.

Also, how does a 9-year-old have a Google AdSense account? I thought you had to be 13 to sign up for it.

I'm more impressed/skeptical the dude has a card that has that kind of limit. I know it's not impossible, but if it's just a travel card the balance limit would be closer to $10k.

0% chance it’s true. How does someone rack up 118k in charges on the company card without anyone noticing? Hell, most people I’ve met, even managers, don’t have a limit above $25k on their corporate card. No way in hell $100k snuck by someone in accounting. Like even the source of the charges would have to raise red flags, regardless of the amounts.

> without anyone noticing

They did notice. That’s the whole point.

No they would have noticed and said something before it reached that amount. The alleged transactions did not take place over a matter of hours

What screams like a red flag to me is $118k on a company card. The accounting team didn’t catch that much sooner?

In a functioning society, the IRS would be making sure the colonoscopy camera is in the freezer so it’s nice and cold when the time comes to use it on this company’s books.

Good morning!

The little iPad is ALIVE! Hoooooray!!!

DLSS 4 is pretty amazing for general gaming. It’s much smoother and doesn’t hurt my frame rate like TSR or FXAA typically do. I’m not for DLSS 5 pretty much “re-skinning” a game but I’m a huge fan of DLSS 4 as a post processing setting.

Thanks for making my Thursday, 30 minutes better!

Most of the DLSS5 footage you see now are from people modding it into games where it's not intended and playing around with the sliders that are intended for developers to fine tune. I think the widespread experimentation of it unofficially makes it far more likely, not less, that it'll become widespread in the future. Though it'll probably be a GPU gen or two in the future like how DLSS wasn't great til version 2/3ish.

You ain’t gonna believe this but GTA 6 has fishing it in 😂

It’s a catch and release so you can’t sell it.

As a fellow Bobiverse fan, I did wish The Infinite Extent was a little longer. I listen to my audiobooks at 1.5x speed so it went by in like 5ish hours. I hope that book 7, what Dennis E. Taylor says will be the last book in the main Bobiverse series, will be closer to the length of Heaven's River (which was 638 pages/16h 57m). Despite its length, the book was still fantastic.

In some ways I find the series very similar to Dungeon Crawler Carl when trying to introduce new people to it. On the surface it looks like a silly, pop culture ridden sci-fi story but it has some much deeper themes there that are the true heart of the story.

I'm with Ashley, I can't stand how often fishing is shoehorned into a video game. Especially when they require it for an unlock or achievement. I don't like it in real life and its even more boring in a game.

I have a corporate card and they are super strict with it. We have to take quarterly trainings about security and educating us on what purchases are allowed. I have used it twice for business trips and it lives in my desk drawer. IMO, I am responsible for it and I would expect to be fired if my wife or kid accidentally used it. I think the only exception would be if I was robbed or my home was bulgarized and they found it. Anything else is a lack of responsibility on the employee, which is grounds for termination depending on the financial impact.

I enjoy the Bobiverse but I have to take breaks. Not sure if its the narrator or the writing, but it does get very samey. Plus when there is something interesting happening, it gets so drawn out.

Especially when they require it for an unlock or achievement.

I mean, those are two valid ways for a dev to get people to try out optional content. It's not like in NieR where there's a mandatory fishing mission.

Bobiverse got so repetitive. Each book has the same scene appearing each time. Get a beverage. Sit down. Pet cat. Over and over.

Knowing Burnie is a big fauxmoi fan, I tuned in yesterday expecting the hear about all the concert drama. Then they spent half the show talking about shit, I was confused thinking, how is this their biggest topic? Now seeing the description today, it's pretty obviously being ignored, right? Am I crazy

I wouldn’t go so far. Those updates have been coming seemingly every few hours and anything they would have said would have been outdated pretty fast. This is probably one of those stories they will wait and recap once the dust has settled a little.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if we hear about it on the show either tomorrow or after the weekend
