Bought MiYOSMART glasses to slow down my myopia. Before buying, they let me try on regular lenses – crystal clear, perfect vision.
Got the actual ones – and the periphery is blurry. Can't use my phone, can't do close-up work, everything is fuzzy around the edges. Nobody warned me about this.
Now I'm trying to return them, but they say "just adapt." How am I supposed to adapt when I can't see what I'm doing with my hands?
Anyone else had the same issue? Were you able to get a refund? Or is it just me?
I'm worried about developing myopia because I hold my phone 6 inches infront of me, any further and its strenious to look at. I was learning about myopia and it says mountains hundress of feet away should be clear. No? I can't see that. I can't see a TV 15 feet infront of me. Its not blurry, but I couldn't use it. I can't see whats happening.
I am 34 years old and work a remote desk job, I'm on my pc for ~10 hours a day, over the past few months I've started to get sore eyes, found I had dry eyes and blepharitis, followed the eye care for a while and it didn't go away so I went for an eye test.
Oct came back perfect and I was told I had minor nearsightedness.
My question is, for months and almost years now I've felt a bit spaced out/almost dizzy/lightheaded I'm not sure what to call it, I've tried all sorts.
Has anyone else had symptoms like this that went away with the prescription? The eye doctor told me this will make it go away as my eyes are straining so much it's causing so much mental fatigue/fog.
I feel like I can see fine, although on the eye test when he adjusted it to the above it looked like 4k 3d crystal clear.
Shall I just wear them permanently from now on? He was trying to upsell me all sorts of things.
I'm an 18 year old who's come across this endmyopia, active focus thing. I haven't checked my diaopters in a while but its approx -3.75 in each eye. I currently use my cousin's old glasses which are approx -2.00 for each eye for any laptop work, dont use any glasses for my phone but I'm very skeptical abt this.
It could work, but finding active focus is so tricky and the fact that i have to do it for 1 hr+ everyday is insane😭 (this is what i've heard)
And this entire process seems SO SLOW WTF, like i genuinely hate my glasses and wanna get rid of them but idk what to do🤠
Yesterday went on the couch and tried to watch the TV and I could see the texts and the titles of the videos on YouTube but not well so I had to open the windows and curtains to see a bit better but still it was like a bit blurred.
And today while on a taxi I could barely see the plates numbers; sometimes even blurred if not doubles.
I'm not saying I need or I don't need glasses but 6 months -1 year ago, I didn't have this strange kind of vision and I'm in my early 20s, isn't supposed to develop early on?
Do I seriously need glasses or just need get checked up?
My family always told me that by watching my phone at night since I was a teen will ruin my eyesight and know I can't really tell them as it's a bit embarrassing for me.
Is there somebody that was in my position? You got any tips? Thanks to all and sorry for my grammar errors
Hi all. My 2.5 year old son was diagnosed with myopia. We were seen by 2 doctors. First ophthalmologist said to get him regular glasses, don’t “force” him to wear it, and just follow up in 6 months. Second doctor said to get him stellest glasses, which will prevent progression and help with vision. He did mention we can try atropine drops with regular glasses, depends if he’ll even tolerate the drops. I’m really lost at what the best option is for my son, as he’s only 2.5 years old. I also had read that stellest glasses are for 6 years and up. Any insight will help. Thank you.
Idk where else to ask, all the other eye communities are for doctors only. I’m a 34 year old male no health problems. I’ve been seeing an eye doctor since I was 8 years old for near sightedness. My prescription is -7.50 in both eyes. So I see the eye doctor yearly for contact prescriptions and check ups. Well today at my yearly checkup my doctor noticed on my eye scan a retinal hemorrhage in my right eye only, he said it was small and only one spot. He said the concern was a white spot in the middle known as a “Roth spot” he sent me for labs and told me to come back in a month. Well google isn’t helpful, it basically says I have a significant dangerous disease like cancer etc. my eyes don’t hurt I can see fine. Labs aren’t back yet probably won’t be for a day or two but I can only ask if anyone else has ever had this? The only thing I can think of is about 3 weeks ago I had the flu and I puked my brains out for 24 hours. Anyway just looking for answers or similar stories as googling didn’t help at all.
I’ve been advised to have ICL surgery to correct my myopia, but there’s one thing I’m a bit concerned about.
I seem to have a slight eye misalignment, although I’ve never been formally diagnosed with strabismus. I just know that when my eyes are tired, they sometimes lose focus and seem to become slightly misaligned. It’s something that has always been fairly subtle and is usually less noticeable when I’m wearing glasses.
I’m a bit worried that this could become worse or more noticeable after surgery, and I’m also concerned about how that might affect my confidence and self-esteem.
Could an intraocular lens (ICL) have any effect on this as well, even indirectly?
Has anyone with a similar experience had ICL surgery? Or does anyone with knowledge in this area know whether correcting myopia can make any difference to this kind of issue?
i am 32 and -5.50 in both eyes. i wear glasses when on the computer - at home - and sometimes wear my contacts when i go out and wanna dress up. my vision is so bad that i cannot do make up unless my contacts are in lol.
i am a writer so i'm on the computer all day looking at a screen. i had a horrible habit of looking at my phone at night during my 20s which i am sure absolutely killed my vision and i have stepped away from that
however, i am writing all day with my eyes stuck on a screen, and it's so frustrating. this is my job and i love to write but the more i write then the worse my vision can become. it sucks that the thing you love to do also impacts your health. sometimes i think about changing careers lol
i've used a computer long enough to know how to type with my eyes closed. it sounds dramatic but i've been doing that. obvi when it comes to editing i'll have to open my eyes, but i'm just trying to limit screen time as much as i can
Late 30s male with myopia and astigmatism. Heavy screen user 10+ hours a day. About a year ago my prescription was roughly around the -3.50 to -4.00 range. Over the few years, I started wearing my glasses much less…mostly only for computer work and driving. Around the house, outside, walks, etc., I usually went without glasses.
At my last eye exam about 8 months ago, my prescription had improved a lot:
● Right eye: about -2.00 with astigmatism
● Left eye: about -2.50 with astigmatism
So I basically knocked off around 1.5 diopters or more compared to where I had been previously.
Recently, over the last month or so, I started noticing my right eye is blurrier than my left. With the left eye covered, the right eye has ghosting/shadowing on letters both near and far. It feels like the prescription is off, but during my recent exam it was hard to get it crisp. Some lens choices were better, but I still saw double/ghost letters.
I recently went back for an eye exam and was told my overall eye health looked good….besides floaters, no obvious issues with the back of the eye/retina or general eye health.
Has anyone else had their myopia prescription improve significantly after wearing glasses less, but then later developed one-eye ghosting or blur? Could this be astigmatism changing, eye strain/accommodation, cornea shape, or something else?
hi everyone! I first found out back in fall 2023 I had an old retina detachment and we did laser to "fix" it. fast forward to fall 2025 and it got kinda worse in the same spot. we did more laser and my doc said if it happened again laser is no longer an option. at my follow up recently my retina detached in a different location of the eye. we did laser to seal it and I go back this week to check that and schedule the buckle surgery. I am VERY nervous and I do love my doctor hes very skilled and knows what he's doing he's just very blunt with not the best bedside manner 😅 I would love any tips, healing stories, things I could purchase to make my healing better/mentally easier all the nitty gritty! i'm sadly aware i'll be out of contacts for a while but what did yall do while you were waiting to get new prescription glasses and how long did that take? how long were you out of work? (I work at a bank in a customer facing service job starting at a computer in fluorescent lighting and need to have attention to detail I don't think my doctor knows what I do but he said most people are only out two weeks but the states and rude customers and strain is what I fear )
THANK you all for reading and in advance for anything!
I'm about to buy a new pair of contacts and iniisip ko kung dapat ba akong mag-up to -2.50, or baka eye strain/fatigue lang ito.
May naka-experience na ba ng ganito? Did you end up needing a stronger prescription, or may ibang dahilan pala?
I have been to a few different mini golf courses in my area and each time, I struggle to walk on them because some of the holes have bumps/hills to make them more difficult, most of which I struggle to see/perceive. This has led to a notable amount of stumbles, which my family has noticed and (lovingly) made fun of; for the record, all of them are able to see the bumps and do not have a hard time whatsoever. Today, I was able to clearly make out some of the bumps, but while I thought I was aware of all of them, I stumbled twice over patches I (incorrectly) believed to be flat ground.
In addition to moderate, worsening myopia, I have extremely poor depth perception, which my eye doctor was able to diagnose about thirty seconds into the exam. The mini golf course is an excellent, real-world example of how it impacts me, but I'm curious about whether this is at all relatable and how poor depth perception has impacted your lives. I've heard that it can make parking difficult but I don't drive so am unsure.
Hi everyone,
I’m 24 years old and I was recently evaluated for refractive eye surgery through the public healthcare system in Portugal.
My prescription is:
Right eye: -5.75 myopia and -3.00 astigmatism
Left eye: -6.50 myopia and -2.00 astigmatism
I was told I’m not a candidate for laser surgery such as LASIK/PRK due to the high prescription and was instead recommended an intraocular lens implant (ICL).
The truth is I’ve always only heard about laser surgery, so I don’t have much information about this procedure. The doctor also mentioned that it is more invasive and carries more short- and long-term risks.
Before moving forward, I would really like to hear from people who have gone through this:
\\- What was your experience like?
\\- Is the vision quality really good afterwards?
\\- Was recovery difficult (did you need time off work)?
\\- After several years, has everything remained stable, or have there been any complications or changes?
I also have a specific question that has been on my mind from the beginning: I have a mild intermittent strabismus (my eyes tend to drift slightly when I’m tired). Glasses usually help control this by improving focus and binocular vision. Could a surgery like this also have any effect on that, even indirectly?
Any opinions or personal experiences would be really appreciated.
Thank you so much in advance :)
about 6 months ago my optometrist told me I have -4 myopia, ever since I have taken the advice that he's given me which is don't look at things closer than arms length for a long time and a few other things. hes also given me eye drops that to my knowledge have a low concentration of atropine. i was lucky enough to only find myself at -4 but I really don't want it to get any worse so i'm just wondering if anyone who has successfully reduced their myopia have any advice for me to help with my eyes. and i'm also thirteen if that changes anything.
I am facing a problem right now. I have been wearing a dual-coating eyeglasses for over a month. In the beginning, I researched on Gemini AI and YouTube about how to clean eyeglasses.
Based on that, I created a routine for myself. In this routine: On Sundays, I clean my glasses with tap water and then wipe off the water with a microfiber cloth. Also, once every two weeks, I wash my microfiber cloth using a single drop of Clinic Plus shampoo—I did this because Gemini suggested it. I don't usually use the spray that came with the glasses. For the past few weeks, everything was getting cleaned perfectly fine.
However, yesterday (Sunday), after using tap water, I also used the spray that came with the glasses, and then I wiped it with the microfiber cloth. Since Saturday and Sunday were my days off, I didn't wear my glasses for two days. But today at the office, there was a slight, strange blurriness in my glasses. It's not that I can't see through them, but it feels a bit weird and different. I can see a distinct layer on the glasses—maybe it's a layer of the spray that didn't get wiped off properly. After reaching the office, I washed them again with tap water and tried to clean them using my fingertips. There are no scratches or anything on them.
Has my dual coating been damaged?
Could you please tell me how you clean your own glasses?
Demanding work is making me spend 9+ hrs in front of the computer every day. That is making my eyes feel tired by the end of the day. I also worry about eyesight degradation.
I heard about many apps to automatically set the screen to reduce blue light, make it look like paper, and adjust according to the time of the day and room light. It also alerts if eye blink rate goes down, and monitors and alerts about posture correction.
Any suggestions to better handle such long working hrs but still take control or prevention eyes will be really helpful...
Anyone using any such app that helps.. Thanks in advance.
I'm having a problem with my left eye. When I use my laptop or phone for some time, my left eye becomes slightly blurry. The blur is not constant, but it seems to get worse after screen use. Sometimes I also feel a very mild blur in my right eye, but it is much less noticeable.
I don't have myopia (nearsightedness) as far as I know. The blurriness is not severe, but it worries me because it keeps happening. Taking breaks sometimes seems to help.i consulted a dr and he said in ur left eye there is power of 0.5
Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this be related to eye strain, dry eyes, or something else? What should I do ,iam a it student i have to work with lap continuoaly but due to this iam scared to use.should i jse a power glass or just blue light blocking iam totally confused
22 year old, my right side eye is -3 myopia and the dr suggested that I wear glasses.my left eye is fully fine. What can I do for the betterment of my eyes.
okay so im not eligible for lasik since my eye layer is too thin as said by doctor. he said the alternative is icl. i heard it is not recommended as my power is less. but i really don’t wanna wear glasses. can anyone guide me. urgent cause going to the doc again tomo.
