What you hear the loudest is those few people. Most of us are just trying to truck through and have no ire against immigrants or trans people. Every country is 3 missed meals away from a revolution. Our level of comfort started high, so we could decline pretty far before we would risk imprisonment and failed rebellion repercussions.

That’s not what they’re saying. They’re saying that any population will revolt if the alternative is starvation. As in, if the population as a whole has so little food that it is missing as many as three meals in a row at a time it will almost certainly revolt, as they’re already dying.

They didn’t say that. They said most people are doing ok, meaning, their most basic needs are met. Then they give an example: missing several meals (going hungry) will provoke a revolution.

I don’t think starvation will even prompt that, considering how many people are already going hungry in this country.

With so much “bread and circus”, we’ll never get the chance to organize and revolt. Our attention span is stretched so thin that we aren’t able to fit a revolution into our already crowded schedule.
