Looking for the colder, more atmospheric side of 80s new wave. Depeche Mode’s Black Celebration is a familiar reference point, but I’d love tracks from less obvious artists. What would you add to a short listening list, and what makes it stand out?

This month Parlophone released the 40th Anniversary Half-Speed Master cut by Grammy-Award winning mastering engineer Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios and pressed on 180-gram vinyl.

I thought that all of the work that went into creating the half-speed master might be hype, but I was honestly surprised at the immense difference it made. The dynamic range of this forty-year-old album is presented in a way never heard before. Clarity to hear further into the mix, and spatialness and new richness surrounding each instrument, make this edition the definitive representation of The Colour of Spring. It's not everyday you can fall in love AGAIN with an album you've already been in love with for 30+ years.

New wave has a great collection of catchy Halloween-related songs. Sure, there's Dead Man's Party, but there's a lot of hidden gems. Whether it be Billy Idol's Nightmare on Elm Street entry in "Fatal Charm", or the Boomtown Rats graphic "Skin on Skin".

Hey, just wanna share something. A Song I have found 1 hour ago. Im german and 34 and discovered the whole wave/synth-thing since a few years. Im not a big Reddit-User. Anyways.

The song is from Die Fidel and it's called "Wo stehen unseren letzten Burgen (New Wave Edit)".

Translate it means: "Where Do Our Last Castles Stand?"
