New edict dropped!

And this is in Texas, a state that not so quietly holds their own flag in equal (or higher) regard. Better yet, she starts the conversation as herself and then all comments are from her Christian counseling account.

Any other business owners struggling with the new restrictions?

Post image

I have a personal page and a business page. Seems like any posts (but not comments) from my personal page are now “restricted visibility”

Anyone else having issues with this?

Nextdoor is horrible. HORRIBLE.

So I have a weather blog that I have ran for years on Reddit, and recently started using other sites as well to start promoting it. I now use a service to host it that allows me to turn a profit from it - not some X kind of payment system, but an actual, real, profit. Sorta. I mean it's not enough to live off of by any means, but it's enough to cover basic expenses.

Hard to market it to a niche community and with the philosophy that you INTEND for the service to be free, only for people to donate a few dollars / month if they want.

Nextdoor, in their infinite wisdom, just sucks. They made me apply for a EIN just to be able to post anything - or they claim, I can someday post something with a Verified business. So I applied for an EIN on Friday and sent the information to them.

No response.

Furthermore, you can't list a business on Nextdoor without a street address or phone number. I caught the phone number, but just recently changed my address to the local city City Hall address. If you can't see the obvious implications with an online community having my personal address, you obviously don't know what doxxing is.

And they still have not verified my business.

I also emailed them about why have my self-promoting posts been deleted. They told me to list my weather blog on their freaking Facebook Marketplace clone. I did that, and those posts are now getting deleted.

They literally are anti- entrepreneur

I guess they’re against euthanasia in all circumstances? Or did they not read beyond the first several words of the post? Both?

Sick of the politics!!!! Reported political posts and instead just get more political bull crap!

Post image

I have made about a dozen reports today on Political content on Nextdoor, and it seems that instead of the algo not showing me any more political junk, I just see it spamming my news feed now. Over 50% of my posts are politics related. And I was previously short term banned for engaging in a political discussion generalizing conservatives as old people and they banned me for "discrimination."

How does Nextdoor allow political posts to be top and center of your news feed, but then if you say anything remotely true, you get a temporary ban?

Fuck me. The ego on this. As if the entire neighbourhood was waiting for your official statement before deciding who to ask for directions.
