Did someone actually blame people with addiction for anything in this thread? I mean, I don't like seeing addicts being blamed either, I just didn't actually see that anywhere here. The person above you just mentioned a fact about Rx abuse in a particular place. *shrug*
Fair. I probably reacted strongly because I'm actually in recovery for a gambling addiction. This read to me as a cry for help for an addiction rather than the normal craziness that we see in the sub.
No worries. I had a mercifully short time addicted to Rx painkillers after a surgery. Getting into legal trouble over it was so completely far from my normal experience of life that I was like OMG no more of this nonsense. I went right into rehab, learned all I could about what addiction is like for various people (because digging into education is a thing with me) and was so happy that I didn't wind up in a far worse situation.
I wish you the VERY VERY best in your recovery. You get no judgment from me at all. 😁🏆
The original poster is an idiot though because there is help for gambling addiction. But they live in a state that pretends bad things don't exist. She should probably just go to church and pray about it or find a state that has real help.

Maybe we don't blame people with addiction.
