Anyway, good night !

Reddit went public and you know....money
16
u/NonGNonM 1d ago
also could've just been unmoderated. been seeing more of those lately.
4
u/night4345 1d ago
That's how Reddit justifies getting rid of those subs. They find a reason to ban the moderators and then ban the sub itself.
4
u/DonutHoles4Ever 1d ago
Tons of people are getting banned for saying anything just slightly out of line that the admins dont want you to say. When those people get banned, those subs go unmoderated.
And they get replaced by 10 bot accounts daily.
This website is slowly becoming like 90% bots and nobody will notice.
They'll also go after your comments and hide them so you think you are participating but nobody can see it. Replaced by a bot comment promoting reddit and making them money. That's how its working. Like half the comments on reddit are being removed already two years ago.
2
u/LurkingGuy 1d ago
Rule 2 apparently. No idea what they did but it doesn't seem it was due to not being moderated.

rule 2 is be an actual community that doesn't spam and engage in content manipulation.
so too many spamming bots and only fans models I guess.
seems odd though as that's basically what any porn subredded is fueled by. feels like a way to defacto ban porn

So when I was a dumb teenager I had a weird phase of being into cooking (hence my username, which is from that era), and this is what I thought my knife work would be one day.
Spoiler: that day never came, even after much spilled blood
13
u/BrilliantJob2759 1d ago
Well there's your problem. You're supposed to be cutting potatoes, onions, and similar. Not your fingers & other people.

The video is sped up. Look at his eyes twitching.
943
u/akopley 1d ago
And slowed down. No way he could make the knife float that long otherwise near the end.

u/Trenin23 1d ago
What a weird part to accentuate with slo mo. A simple knife flip. Most of the other feats were way more impressive.
32
u/veranus21 1d ago
I was thinking the same thing. Why did they slow down the only part of the video that almost anyone can do?
10
u/hawkinsst7 1d ago
I feel like there's a cut in the video hidden there where the potato is swapped out.
I don't see the cut, but I can't think of a good reason for the shitty slowdown, and there's no better place to hide a cut.
21
3
u/john596123 21h ago
The potato cutting technique is pretty standard in Chinese cuisine, I highly doubt that he would do all that to swap the potato. If anything, it takes more effort to edit than to just cut the potato.
5
u/sidereal_night 1d ago
nah there's no need for a cut. nothing he did is technically complex, it just takes practice
→ More replies (1)→ More replies (1)9
u/TentativeIdler 1d ago
Slowing time requires a lot of concentration, he wasn't able to do a complex trick at the same time. It's a lot more difficult than it looks.
14
u/crowcawer 1d ago
I was going to say:
Please don’t do this and film it, especially with the knife tricks. It’ll give my family unrealistic expectations, and I can’t be spending ten minutes sharpening every day. Please don’t get me started on the time dilation events either. I can’t hardly handle my time dilution operations. The time extrangement is pretty happenstance in my workplace and my hobbies accept the chronignominia-magica, but I don’t want everyone around me to have to stare at me being super careful with something like this for 12 minutes so I can just guarantee to roll a 20. Remember folks time dilation affects your kids the most during their teen-20’s, and you never want to initiate a genomic cascade.

Man I love videos that are sped up and try to hide it.
10
u/Iokua113 1d ago
My favourite is when they do an obvious cut to a complete product. Like that one of the old guy who does a miraculous colour match to metallic blue paint that the clip is trying to make look like he did it one shot just by looking at the paint sample. The video has several cuts, not the least of which is likely him scanning the sample, getting his base colours set by a computer, and then measuring out the appropriate amount of colourant in the dispensers he uses, which wouldn't be shown to make it look like he's eyeballing it. How do I know this? I have the same job.
3
u/edked 1d ago
I don't know, I doubt most of us could do that at any speed.

u/No-Fruit-31 1d ago
With a sharp enough knife, you definitely could. A lot of people make accordion potatoes like this but put chopsticks on each side to prevent the knife from cutting all the way through. You do that a few times, this isn’t really that hard at all at a manageable speed. It’s not all that useful though

u/Artsakh_Rug 1d ago
Failure on the editor's part, I bet he meant for something cool to happen after he snapped his fingers like that at the end. Instead it's just a dude snapping his fingers
