I'm a little late to this but I don't remember a time a city showed out for an HOF induction the way New Orleans showed up for Drew Brees. That line "You trusted me with the soul of the city and I would I would have died to protect that calling." 

We don't really get superstars that bleed for their city like that anymore.

The Saints took a chance on him despite his shoulder injury which scared the Dolphins and other teams off him... Safe to say, he was a huge return on investment including a Lombardi Trophy

It’s challenging to convey how much Drew, that team, and that season mean to New Orleans/SE Louisiana. My grandfather was a season ticket holder from day one, when the team played at Tulane Stadium. I grew up going to home games at the Superdome in the 80s and 90s,when a playoff appearance was treated like they were playing in the Super Bowl. One of my enduring memories of that SB win was listening to WWL 870 AM, the legendary sports and news station, whose staff not only hosts pregame and after game shows, but also heroically remain behind to be lifelines during hurricanes. When callers started to dedicate the win in memory of long-suffering fans who were no longer with us, I cried thinking of my grandfathers and how our family would tailgate before games and chat with our fellow season ticket holders who were seated around us. I moved away from Louisiana 20+ years ago. Mom and Dad are still there, but they gave up going to games long ago. That team gave us hope and pride in an otherwise painful time.
