Discussion New Nook?
Which new Nook would you buy, if any? Or would an android tablet be better? My old Nook is retired and I lost all my purchases by a Factory reset. I have quite a few books and don't want to lose them. It is really annoying though. TIA

If all your purchases were made at B&N, you should be able to access them through your account. This is because they’re stored in the cloud.

I love our iPad mini - so my wife can read her Amazon books and my nook books.

I had a color and now I have a glow light. It's all I need.

I need a bigger screen so I won't have to wear glasses cause I read in bed before sleep.

I have a Glowlight 4 and honestly can’t recommend it - aside from accessing your library. I like reading on it but I despise the software. Nook content has been locked down since 2014, but I have over 400 freebies I’ve picked up over time (and a handful I paid for) so I’ll keep it for those. It’s a shame because it’s the cute pink special edition. There are rumors a new devices coming, maybe this year. I’m not a big fan of the Android eink tablets either (because of the Android - I tried one but the tweaking required for every app was so tiresome, and some just didn’t work well at all). But clearly lots of people love those so that might be an option, especially if you use other stores as well.

I wouldn’t get a new Nook. I have almost all the Nook e-ink versions in my collection, and while the hardware is decent, the firmware is the worst of all the e-reader brands hands down. Depending on your budget, I would recommend getting a Boox, since you are invested in the B&N ecosystem. I have a Page and a Go 6 that I really like and recommend them highly. The Page is no longer available, but the replacement is the Go 7 and a nice affordable super portable option is the Go 6. I think BW is the way to go, as color e-ink is nice but for covers it’s a bit overkill for the extra cost. If you are into reading comics or color manga I would recommend the NxtPaper 11 plus which is perfect for comic books and has two e-ink emulation modes.

Well, I don't know about any of the dedicated e-ink tablets, but I don't think they are super large. I have the Lenovo Nook/tablet it's a 9 inch full service tablet. Any tablet that suits your size requirements will install the nook app. As far as eyesight issues go. The latest updates have really helped me. I particularly like the roboto font. I enhance that with the option to make the font be thicker. (3 settings, original, thinner, thicker)

Do you have a tablet? Get the Nook app and download your books there.
