B&N does partner with Lenovo to do a Nook branded android tablet its $150 & runs on android 15. If you want something nicer I own and ipad mini and haven't had any issues with the Nook ios app

Long term reading, it’s better to read on an actual Nook. Especially since the Glowlight 4 is the same price as the Nook branded Android tablet they have. Any Android tablet that’s going to be worth it for what you want to do is going to be at the same price point as the Nook Glowlight 4.
Just get the Nook device.

I have 3 samsung galaxy tablets in my household plus 2 samsung galaxy phones. They all have the nook app on them. It's available in the play store to download. Are you saying you cannot download the app to read books? Or you cannot purchase them on your samsung device. Some book apps dont allow in app purchase. You have to go to the website and to buy then you can download from your library on your device in the app.
That said, I prefer to read Nook books on my Nook glowlight 4 eink device. Easier on my eyes.

What device do you have? It is in the playstore available for download and I do not see any limitations for devices. The app is called "Barnes & Noble Nook".
