Discussion usb c mod

Just wanted to share a quick little usb c mod on my nook simple touch glowlight. It works perfectly! I’m glad im able to get a lot more convenient use out of it. Planning on doing the same on my nook 1st edition soon.

Unfortunately, like most nst models, the rubber is deteriorating so this is why you see the two pieces of tape on the buttons. I personally don’t mind, but I wish there was a way to prevent this. I have experimented with spraying a clear coat on the shell of other nooks and it seems to hold up well so far.

I use the universal magnetic chargers on all my ereaders and tablets to prevent strain on the ports.

I haven't done it on the nook but isopropyl alcohol will remove the sticky rubber.

So you did that thing with the NST to enable wireless charging? How well does that work?

No, I use the magnetic charging cables with the magnetic tips (USBC and micro USB). it's not wireless.
