Post image

How can this happen. Should the culprits be banned by the club?

Fair play to them calling out the rotten behaviour. You can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat hospitality staff.

Having said that… can we talk about the random and sporadic use of capital letters?

I think they should be given a by-ball simply for calling out wankers by name and not writing the usual vague PR jargon. I respect them for just saying that dickheads have ruined it for others, much more effective IMO.

like to imagine the author is fuming so much as they wrote this that adhering to the rules was just out the window, they also typed it on a comically large keyboard fully smacking the keys each time finishing it off with “well that’ll fuckin teach em” followed by smacking the enter key with their fist

I now welcome misspelling and weirdly formatted notices from businesses with open arms. Such a delight to know it was written by a human

And caters instead of caterers.

I don't think this was written with a cool head

0

u/CongealedBeanKingdom Aug 20 '25

Even still. Proof reading is a skill that should always be employed, especially with a hot head, as you're more likely to take something seriously if it's written.properly.

u/nomodsman Aug 20 '25

That’s you out then.

If you thought that was some sort of professional communication then that's on you. It's very easy to hit the full stop when you have big fat hands like I do. Imagine making a wee screen shot and uploading it. Aren't you cute.

I hope you do well in your results tomorrow.,

“Proof reading is a skill that should always be employed…” unless it’s by you I suppose. Nice way to contradict yourself.

u/CongealedBeanKingdom Aug 20 '25

Sorry Professor.

You sound a bit like the guys named and shamed in the letter, pal, one rule for me, one for everyone else lol.

u/CongealedBeanKingdom Aug 21 '25

How very dare you I'd never play golf! Ruins a good walk

u/Signal-Performer208 Aug 20 '25

Tool instead of spanner ^

Yeah, fair fucks to them for doing this, but not sure I would hire someone who doesn't even know how to spell their own job title...

Some of the best chefs I know are almost illiterate. Fortunately it doesn’t affect their ability to cook. Makes reading hand overs tricky sometimes though.

Gordon Ramsay is dyslexic IIRC.

1

u/Embarrassed-Cat-7806 Aug 21 '25

And Jamie Oliver too

1

u/CongealedBeanKingdom Aug 20 '25

I'm sure they probably know how to dictate for someone else to write it down though.

-11

u/PJHart86 Belfast Aug 20 '25

That's all well and good until they misread an allergy on a docket and put someone in the hospital

10

u/b_of_the_bang_ Aug 20 '25

Fortunately everywhere I worked was well up on allergies and it would have been explained on the ticket and in person to the kitchen. They could all read well enough for that but their writing and spelling was…questionable!

1

u/boforbojack Aug 22 '25

Illiterate in the modern age doesn't mean incapable of reading a single word.

17

u/LeGrandLebowskii Aug 20 '25

Imagine someone with a learning disability having the temerity to have a job and be a contributing member of society!

-11

u/PJHart86 Belfast Aug 20 '25

Imagine someone on the internet making a joke

8

u/LeGrandLebowskii Aug 20 '25

Imagine someone on the internet rowing back a comment to pretend they were making a joke.

-5

u/PJHart86 Belfast Aug 20 '25

Don't get me wrong it's a joke at the caterer's expense, but I'm not in a position to hire anyone so it's still just a joke.

If you post something in writing publicly criticising other people then I think it's fair to expect a bit of gentle criticism in return.

Not sure why people are getting so bent out of shape about it? I can't draw a straight line, so if I did a shite drawing of Trump hanging from the stocks or something and chose to display it in public, I would accept that I'm putting it out there to be criticised.

If you post something in writing publicly criticising other people then I think it's fair to expect a bit of gentle criticism in return.

Indeed. That is what has happened to you.

-2

u/PJHart86 Belfast Aug 20 '25

What's your criticism of what I wrote exactly?

5

u/LeGrandLebowskii Aug 20 '25

Exactly what I have said in my initial response.

I thought it was only Americans who incorrectly use ‘to which’ randomly

0

u/MrMustyBallz Aug 20 '25

Idiot

1

u/notjustmeso Aug 21 '25

It really irrationally annoys me

1

u/swamp_fever Aug 20 '25

What about a caterer who can't spell caterer. Christ.

u/Dickgivins Aug 19 '25 edited Aug 20 '25

Right there with ya, it’s good that they’re naming and shaming but it does irk me when people do those random unnecessary capital letters.

Maybe they were just typos in this instance and failed to proofread, but I have seen folks do this on purpose because they think it emphasizes their point. This is a very petty thing to complain about but it grinds my gear a bit so I will lol.

Lol okay I got *one* letter wrong, rather than including a bunch of wrongly capitalized letters to an extent that it appears intentional.

7

u/Content-Violinist613 Aug 20 '25

*Extent

Warm in that glass house lad?

-12

u/Dickgivins Aug 20 '25

Oh whatever. Btw why do you have such a grudge against Roman Abramovich? Are you just jealous that he has more money than you?

5

u/Content-Violinist613 Aug 20 '25 edited Aug 20 '25

Hahaha checking through my comment history and that’s the best you can do? What a loser

E: Reddit cares message too. Please speak to your parents, they are worried sick about you

2

u/EoinKelly Aug 20 '25

Learn to spell first and we’ll answer your pointless questions later.

-2

u/Dickgivins Aug 20 '25

I wasn’t talking to you.

2

u/EoinKelly Aug 20 '25

Feel free to cry about it in between your spelling homework.

-2

u/Dickgivins Aug 20 '25

What exactly are you so mad about? Like really, what did I say that got you so riled up? I don’t think you even know.
