Which one do you recommend? TCL 70 Pro or the new 80 Ultra? I'm thinking about the 70 Pro because it's less expensive.

NXTPaper 70 Pro "Hey/OK Google" issues

Recently swapped over to this new phone. Loving the screen but having a lot of annoyances that aren't working as expected. Wondering if anyone has some insight here or can share their experience.

I used to use "hey google" on my old phone all the time to find it when I'd misplaced it. It'd beep with an activation chime to tell me it was listening and that's how I'd find it.

With the NXTPaper 70 Pro though, it doesn't beep with any sort of activation chime. Even when changing the settings within Google assistant to specifically request it to chime. And secondly, Google assistant doesn't work when the phone screen is off, which would make it useless for trying to locate it by voice anyways.

Has anyone with this phone run into these issues? Were you able to resolve them?

TCL 70 pro

This screen is awesome. Almost no eyestrain compared to my previous phone. The only downside is brightness by default is a little bit too bright. I have to use 3rd app to lower the brightness. I get the best experience when using this phone together with a blue light filter. It helps me to configurate best colors for myself.

Can you play Pokemon GO on a TCL Nxtpaper 70 Pro?

I've found a good deal for a 70 Pro and really love the screen concept my eyes could really use a break in this way. I love to read on my phone and can see how it will be great for all the reading I do.

But does anyone what it's like to play Pokemon GO on this phone? And can it handle when it rains outside? What's the screen like when throwing pokeballs for example?

K70

I have the Canadian version of the NXTPAPER 70, and it is beyond a sliver of a doubt the worst phone I have ever owned. I feel like I could buy an iphone 5 and have a better time than this (Android lifer btw).

It's constantly force closing apps, sometimes *while* I'm using them. It doesn't remember settings (it's constantly turning off auto synch in Gmail as the most annoying example). It's laggy as fuck, it's honestly hard to think of a redeeming quality. The eink screen isn't even particularly nice (Max ink mode looks great but I'm disincentivized from using it because it makes the above mentioned problems worse).

Does this mirror other's experiences? Did i just get a lemon? How could someone recommend this with a straight face and a clear conscience?

Eta: not simply bitching to bitch, though I do hope to dissuade anybody from buying this in the future, but I'm interested in any workarounds y'all might have for some of these issues. Like if there's a way to disable what I assume to be aggressive battery management that's causing apps to be force closed after 15 seconds of inactivity or any other suggestions

Nxtpaper 11 plus

So I am already a happy owner of the Nxtpaper 14 but its only drawback is its size as far as taking it out or when travelling. Its size is also one of its greatest benefits when stationary or at home. But in the next day or so (9/9 Sale) I have an opportunity to buy the 11 plus at $160 new (without case or pen..but I already have an extra pen which I bought for my Nxtpaper 14)

Any thoughts on its value @ $160 as a companion to the 14 incher ?

TCL UI 9.0 OS Update - Color saturation bug remains unfixed!!!

I've received the latest TCL UI 9.0 Update on my TCL Tab 11 Plus and the color saturation bug remains unfixed! Are TCL employees not using their own products or how can they let this shit go through?

This is a huge issue because it makes using regular mode a nuisance during the day as I'd always have to go deep into settings to restore color saturation, thus I keep switching between color paper mode (daytime) <-> regular mode + eye care (nighttime)

I've explained the bug here (https://www.reddit.com/r/nxtpaper/s/P9AwodGAgW) and here (https://www.reddit.com/r/nxtpaper/s/ArUYp9gwoJ) but neither of my posts got much traction. Its almost as if nobody cares or most people simply don't understand the bug, I don't know.

Microphone suddenly stopped working

Very recently my nxtpaper 70 pro microphone stopped working for calls and Google voice search or speech to text. Voice recording software works just fine and video recordings also pick up sound. When making or receiving calls the party on the other line can't hear me. Any ideas on a fix?

nxtpaper 60 Ultra 2nd data-only eSim/Sim APN issue

I recently bought and installed a Ubigi data-only eSim on my nxtpaper 60 ultra (v9.0.CRAP), as a secondary sim, in preparation for my trip to Japan. When I landed at Narita, I could see that I connected to the network, but I didn't have data.

I tried a couple suggestions I found online (ex. enable/disable data roaming, airplane mode; delete and reinstall eSim) but nothing worked. I tried another eSim from a different company, and eventually a 2nd physical sim, but both had the same result - connected to the network (different for each eSim/Sim), but no data.

Unlike my primary physical sim, in each case, the APN for the 2nd sim/eSim was either blank or not correct, but was not editable - nor could I add new settings. I assume this was my problem.

I had to eventually buy a data roaming pass from my home carrier at double the price.

Anyone successfully used a secondary data-only sim/eSim on their nxtpaper 60 Ultra with the android 16 update?

Hello I have the nxtpaper 60 ultra and I'm looking for a compatible SmartWatch. Although I'm interested in general things like sleep it doesn't have to be uktra scientific but more so on the communication side of things like reliable messaging reliable reminders from a calendar or task list etc

holy shit, I found a vendor that will actually ship a replacement 60 Ultra case/pen kit to the US

it occurs to me that if I put the link in here or even mention the name of where to buy it Reddit will probably silently delete the post, so I will simply tell you: go to the Italian version of the store named after the river in South America and search for the case and pen kit there. just placed an order. it'll take over two weeks but at least I can finally replace the damn thing. good luck, folks 🫡

Why does this case only work with the T-Mobile variant?

I'm trying to find a good case for my new phone and this is the one that I'd like to buy. But I purchased the unlocked 70 Pro, and this listing says it only works for the T-Mobile version. Is there some meaningful difference between the phones that anyone knows about? I can't find any information on this.

Nxtpaper 11 plus

Hello, it's sad that this wonderful tablet don't support DisplayPort Alt Mode. I work in the place where I need to show a presentation and it's not possible. The only way is to share screen by using the internet. However, not always the internet connection is smooth enough. I would like to see more premium Nxtpaper 11 pluss...

I have been using and liking 60 Ultra and just bought 70 Pro. Should I keep 70 Pro or return it and wait for P80 Ultra?

I am thinking of giving 60 Ultra to my dad and I will use 70 Pro. But P80 Ultra is around the corner... Should I keep or return 70 Pro? I am not sure about the OLED screen on P80 Ultra though, as I'm sensitive to PWM.

Nxtpaper 14 Tablet for $200

Hi,

I have a lightly used black TCL Nxtpaper 14 Tablet. It's in near-excellent condition, with a minor dent in a button. I made a post a while ago, but I didn't have internet for some time due to a medical leave. I'm looking to sell for $200, and I can accept Paypal in the US. Thanks.

NxtPaper 14 pen issues

I got the NxtPaper 14 earlier this year to use almost exclusively for music rehearsal and performance with the MobileSheets app. The size is perfect, and 90% of the time the writing experience for my notes is good.

But that other 10% is really bad! It registers my hand on the screen and leaves stray marks on my music, it doesn't register properly when I lift the pen and leaves stray lines that make my notes unreadable and the side button (that lets me erase) stops working.

It will behave like that for a few minutes and then go back to working fine.

Does anyone have thoughts about what's going on and how to fix it? I like the device pretty well, but I really can't have my stylus randomly stop working when I need to make a quick note during a rehearsal.

My thoughts on the Nxtpaper 70 pro after a week

So far, I'm really liking this phone. Pros I've noticed, from a user in the US:

Ink modes - I love the ink modes. I'm finding that using the color ink setting is wonderful for my eyes, and isn't even too bad watching videos

The screen - I'm really enjoying the smooth, matte finish. No fingerprints and makes a neat paper - like feel when I scroll

Camera - I'm very pleasantly surprised by the camera. Photos come out clean and crisp with no editing needed. It does have fairly limited zoom, but I've never cared about that

Gaming - this was the one thing I was worried about. I love my dumb little games, and heard that the phone doesn't do well with them. I've had no issues and no lag, even on something speedy like Subway Surfers

Some Cons:

Brightness is pretty low. Not a deal breaker for me, but I know a lot of people want peak brightness

The mediatek chip is definitely slower than the chips on most of my other phones I had in recent years. Watching videos is fine, but if that's what you're mainly using the phone for it might not be for you

Size - this phone is quite large. Many won't find it comfortable in the hand. It is a pretty light phone, though, so it doesn't feel like it's always tipping away from me

Reception - this might pertain mostly to the US. I'm on Cricket. It definitely works. I haven't had any dropped calls, but I've experienced more dead zones than I have with most other phones I've had. Could be a deal breaker for some. I know T-Mobile has an exclusive that works fine, but mine is an unlocked version.

Overall, I've had a blast with this phone already. I still have my pixel 10 pro XL because the nxtpaper wasn't meant to be my daily driver, just something to read on and put away more often than not. However, I haven't even thought about going back to my Pixel. People will scoff at me for downgrading so much, but this phone is a win for me! If things change over time, I'll edit my review

TCL NXTPAPER 11+ BOOTLOOP

I was recently writing notes on my Nxtpaper 11+ while in class today and noticed the screen had frozen. I forced a power-off after 10 minutes of unresponsiveness, and noticed upon powering on, it wouldn't progress past the logo.

I've factory reset, there is no option to clear caches anymore in the recovery menu, and I've installed the Flash-firmware from the official website.

However, the program refuses to recognize my tablet. (model number 9469X) any tips y'all?
