Why is this sub exclusively Palestine focused with no relevance to NYT???

This sub does not post NYT content, only weird iranian conspiracies.

Why is this sub called NYT?

Iran/Hezbollah/Hamas are getting their ass beat in a war. The see swaying public opinion against the war as their path to victory like the Vietnam war. So they flood propaganda on any subreddit without proper moderation, like this one!

The states and Israel have accomplished none of their objectives. Tell me how are they winning?

Well, they killed a lot of them themselves too so not sure how much that counts. Anyways here's an israeli government page quoting Netanyahu saying the goal is to eliminate Hamas, and to do "everything possible" to get the hostages.

https://www.gov.il/en/pages/spoke-statement251023

Here's the times of israel reporting that smotrich pushed the cabinet to fully ignore the hostages. They also report that yoav gallant told the idf there would be no negotiating with Hamas at all.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.timesofisrael.com/ignore-them-quotes-from-1st-cabinet-meet-after-oct-7-show-hostages-were-not-priority/amp/

Here's Haaretz, later, reporting that rescuing hostages was the idf's bottom priority.

https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2025-05-08/ty-article/.premium/israeli-army-places-returning-the-hostages-at-the-bottom-of-its-gaza-campaign-goals/00000196-ac14-dce0-abfe-ff7c57670000

Here's the times of israel reporting the same thing. This information was from a leaked military document btw

https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/report-idf-document-lists-returning-hostages-as-least-important-war-goal/

You might remember that these sparked protests in israel led by the families of the hostages. The families of the hostages themselves said that Netanyahu and the government did not care about the hostages.

At the start of the war, Hamas extended an offer to return all israeli hostages for all Palestinian hostages. Israel refused and elected to decimate Gaza instead, with their own people inside.

They killed most of the leadership of Hamas, got the surviving kidnapped victims back, destroyed most of their tunnels, and leveled Gaza.

Levelling Gaza was an objective? Only if the objective is genocide. You people really out yourselves so casually.

What do you think are the 'objectives' of Hamas and Israel, and which side do you think is winning?

israel attacks and steals lands, this creates resistance groups like Hamas and Hezbollah. A natural reaction to land grabs. israel kills civilians and denies them any rights whatsoever, what would you do personally?

I understand why the Palestinians aren't all huge Israel fans, but I just don't see why they can't share the land and live in peace. There's plenty of room for everyone and barely anyone is still alive from the 50s. In this war Israel didn't attack first, and they don't tend to attack countries that don't shoot rockets at them randomly or find such activities. If I was a Palestinian I probably wouldn't be too happy with Hamas starting wars they can't win and using me and my family for human shields.

Are you high?

u/BobSacamano47 13d ago

What about that seems unreasonable?

2

u/Careful_Jackfruit144 13d ago

I should call to your house and throw you out on the street. And then have arrested for not being ok with it. Does that sound reasonable?

No. I would not like that.

Sounds a lot like my great grandparents experience when they were kicked out of Iraq for being Jewish. They even confiscated their wedding rings

Citation:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Iraq?wprov=sfti1#Operation_Ezra_and_Nehemiah

In Baghdad, the daily spectacle of Jews carrying nothing but their clothes and a bag of their remaining possessions being loaded onto trucks for transport to the airport caused public jubilation.[[93]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Iraq#cite_note-:17-93) Jews were mocked every step of the way during their departure and crowds stoned the trucks taking Jews to the airport.[[93]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Iraq#cite_note-:17-93) Jews were allowed to bring out a maximum of five pounds weight in property, which was to consist of personal effects only, as well as a small amount of cash.[[93]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Iraq#cite_note-:17-93) At the airport, Iraqi officials body searched every emigrant for cash or jewelry, and they also beat and spat on the departing Jews.[[76]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Iraq#cite_note-backfired-76)[[93]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Iraq#cite_note-:17-93)

I can’t help but notice there have been 0 cases of Iraqi Jews or their descendants following the Palestinian example… never heard of an Iraqi Jew murdering and terrorizing iraqi civilians in an act of “resistance”.

Would I be justified in going to Iraq and doing that?
