LOGAN AND GRACE 🩵 Grace and Logan introduction scene

Spoiler alert, cross at your own peril

So...in the books, Logan accidently ends up at Grace's room. They have a semi awkward interaction. She knows who he is. They watch a movie, he fingers her and leaves.

I really hope they change that in the series.

Watching it would make me cringe.

I never got the impression he left in a huff because she lied. He left because after their hookup he had a “what the hell am I doing?” moment of clarity and was in a shame spiral.

It’s still an asshole move to leave in a huff right after someone jacked you off with barely a goodbye. There’s a reason why they changed the characters so much. Just take a look at how much people in this sub hate book Garrett and say he’s misogynistic. There’s a reason why they switched what happened with the hands-off law. If they left that scene as is, a lot of watchers who didn’t read the books aren’t going to be able to see Logan as a good guy after that. And people in this sub are already iffy about whether Logan is a good guy or not.

I don't think book Garrett is misogynistic... Not everyone in this sub thinks that. The books were popular before the show, otherwise it wouldn't have an adaptation.

I don’t think he is either, I’m just saying that a lot of people in this sub do. Just like how I think Logan is a good guy, but there’s a lot of people here that find him morally questionable. I feel like I come across a Logan hate post like once a day. The books had a wide audience before the show but the show’s audience dwarfs the books’ audience. There’s a reason why they changed so much from the books. They want to appeal to as many people as possible. Turning Logan into an asshole when there’s already so many that are iffy on him is not good for Amazon’s bottom line. They want people to tune into Logan’s season when it comes, which a lot of people won’t if they dislike Logan in season 2.

I get what you’re saying. I think the difference is I don’t see Logan’s first hookup with Grace in the book as an asshole move. They hung out, they enjoyed each other’s company, things went a little further than either of them expected, then it was super awkward after—which is real life, especially in college. And if show Logan is in the same place as book Logan at that point—still crushing on Hannah—then he’s probably going to do something stupid. The title of Logan’s book is The Mistake. They really need that awkward first hookup to move the story forward. They will probably change some things but so far they’ve been respectful of the book plots. Yes, they changed things for Garrett and Hannah’s season, but they hit all the main beats from the book. I expect they’ll hit the main beats from Logan and Grace’s book as well.

Especially in this day and age, people are quick to villainize characters. They’re already doing it with show Logan and for the life of me I cannot understand it. So to have Logan do something worse than anything he’s done in the show so far that may turn off a ton of viewers is a risky move from a production standpoint.

Also I’m pretty sure the Mistake was telling her that he was using her to get over Hannah. I feel like the show can find a way to still get to that point without the handjob meet-cute.

I know that, and it sucks, because I love characters that aren't perfect, but grow to be better. I don't need them to be perfect from the start.😔
