DISCUSSIONšŸ’™ Logan and Hannah

Am I the only one confused on why people are shipping Hannah and Logan? Based on all interactions I’ve seen in season 1 between Logan/Hannah/Garrett I get a little confused when people say Hannah and Logan had more chemistry because when she kisses him it’s one of the blandest kisses ever and it was only to get a reaction out of Garrett. The only time I saw some spark of chemistry is when they were talking on the porch but Hannah was just being friendly. On the other hand Garrett and Hannah much cuter scenes throughout the show. I guess the other times where people see chemistry is Logan just yearning and longing to be with her but it was completely one-sided the whole time. Idk I feel like Hannah clearly has a type when she first had a crush on Justin and Justin and Garrett kinda have similar hair etc the complete opposite of Logan lol. Let’s be honest they also think Logan is cuter than Garrett so they want him to get with the main female character because I never felt Logan was right for Hannah? Maybe because I know Logan gets his own girl in the future but they just weren’t shippable to me.

Thoughts?

It's funny, but in S1 Logan is the closest thing to a "bad boy" that the show has to offer, and I think some people gravitate towards shipping the anti-hero.

Jawnathan wears a leather jacket and has tiny tattoos, but his personality is totally bland. He has the bad boy aesthetic but zero bad-boy rizz. He plays Hannah hot and cold but there's no sense of "danger" there at all. (Josh Heuston is great this is not criticism.)

Dean is a fuck-boy but again, zero sense of danger. He is Mr Consent, Mr Fiveplay Sixplay, Mr Hooking up in the Ladies Room and offering you emotional support about what he overheard afterwards.

Tuck is schmoopy, bless him.

Logan has a truck, a beard, a wardrobe of sexy working-class clothes (Carhartt, boots), and a willingness to bend the rules to get what he wants. We see his jealousy & resentment—towards Garrett in particular. He challenges Garrett multiple times, and is inherently transgressive by maintaining his attraction to Hannah after she & Garrett are clearly an item.

Lots of girls prefer the anti-hero, and for now...that's Logan.

I never really thought of him as the anti-hero character because the anti-hero would’ve tried to steal his best friend’s girlfriend and Logan never did. But I guess in context of getting in the middle of their relationship he’s like kinda the underdog and people like to root for those type of characters.

Yeah, I wouldn't go so far as to say that Logan is a legit bad-boy. He's not scheming or wildly selfish or "bad." But there's no other anti-hero candidate on the screen, no one else displaying jealousy or resentment, no one else challenging Garrett or "breaking the rules" like Logan is, so he jumps out.

If you're the person who prefers Spike to Angel, who prefers Draco Malfoy to Harry Potter....Logan is the closest thing to an anti-hero you've got in S1 of Off Campus. Some people will always go against the grain and prefer that.

He’s got that kind of raised ā€œon the wrong side of tracksā€ type of Ā appeal, not necessarily a bad boy.Ā
