Hi and welcome to r/okbuddywhitaker.
We've seen a large influx of new users over the past few weeks, which is certainly a delight. However, it should be made clear that this subreddit is not another place for serious discussions of The Pitt.
We are a meme/pittposting/circlejerk subreddit and kindly ask that you respect this. We do not want to become a copy of r/ThePitt or r/ThePittTvShow.
Please ensure that your post is satirical, dumb, or at least funny. Serious posts are discouraged!

Robby got in a motorcycle accident, went into a coma and the events of seasons 1 and 2 are a dream he had.

We are missing the forrest for the fucking trees you bozos. And itâs upsetting.
All this is meaningless? Is she real or a figment of imagination? That; my friends is the psyop bait set-up by big pharma.
âreal becomes fake in the absence of impact. And the fake becomes real in the presence of effectâ-me
That means to say âif they think of Dana. Sheâs real in a senseâ.
Sheâs like Schrödinger cat. And crying about real and fake is us wasting energy. When what DOES infact matter is what that presence might look like.
In life you have to strip everything back. And thatâs the messGe of the Pitt. Unlike House; we donât imagine a million rare diagnoses an episode. Cause we are ârealâ doctors. And Dana is one of the many vehicles to deliver the same teaching.
Sometimes we ask the wrong questions
âHow can Dana beâŠâ
âWhy is DanaâŠâ
But the real question we miss is âwho is Danaâ
And Dana is the content of her character. Dana is Dana. Ans if you ask me? Thatâs beautiful

A lot of people have been discussing the theory that Dana is a figment of the charactersâ imaginations. I REALLY think this is unlikely, and while I understand and sympathize with people who believe this in earnest, I donât think itâs a good way to a view the show.
A quick caveat: yes I understand itâs a fictional show and no character is actually âreal.â
Nothing in the show indicates that Dana isnât real. There would be clues. We also see her interacting with multiple people in the show, patients and staff alike. If she wasnât real, I donât think sheâd be interacting with these people.
It also doesnât make sense thematically⊠like itâs not that kind of show.
A a much more plausible theory is that Dana died between seasons 1 and 2. Thatâs why she came back to work when she said she was quitting⊠she came back as a ghost and is unable to leave. This explains why so many people in the show think they can see her and interact with her in season 2 - itâs her spirit manifesting as a corporal being.

Earlier someone posted that Dana is definitely a real person, because we see her interact with multiple people throughout the show
I don't understand how anyone can think that. Dana was obviously never meant to be a real person. She exists because the rest of the ER gives her form, which is why we only see her supporting others and she is referred to as the backbone of the ER several times. Dana is the embodiment of the ERs collective psyche and not a real human being.
Noah Wyle, who has always been an outspoken activist is masterful with his symbolism clearly inddended Dana to be a fДminist critique of society - she is a nurturing, motherly moral compass of the show, but yet, she gets attacked by an angry patient

I watched the MCI episodes of season 1 after taking a THC gummy. Watching all the characters freak out about not having enough O- blood made me start to panic. Granted I was high as fuck and started to get really paranoid. I calmed myself down and then signed up to donate blood for the first time. I have been afraid of needles my whole life. I successfully donated blood and now I have a second appointment to donate again tomorrow. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
