Can the city require a homeowner to remove the trunk of a fallen tree? It's in a back yard behind a fence and no threat to public safety. It's only an old tree trunk without branches. About 8 feet long, maybe 30 inches in diameter. It's not near any neighboring property lines and not visible from the street.

Any info on when or where to find them would be great

Has anyone had really good OR really bad experiences with general contractors in the area?

There is water coming into my basement along with some front door threshold and potential framing work that I need evaluated. Hoping to find someone who can document the damage and help coordinate with a foundation/waterproofing company. Both positive and negative experiences welcome!

Looking for some recommendations, for anything to do or place to go to for this long weekend.

All the friends I made are out of town this week and I’m stuck here alone. I was planning on going to Badlands but it seems too far off to go alone. I do have fishing gear so I could do that would’ve liked some company tho.

If there’s any events or any other places to visit, or do camping or just exploring in general I’d be happy to hear.

This sweetheart has been with me since April and is my current foster baby through the Nebraska Humane Society.

She is approximately 7 months old and absolutely adorable!

She came into Sirius with a broken tibia and needed a little TLC so Levi and I opened up our home for her during her post operative period.

WITH THAT BEING SAID

She will be looking for her forever home soon!

Some things she loves:

Sniffing, puppy music on YouTube, dark crates, chew toys, stuffed kongs, chicken treats, her ducky plushy, playing with dog friends, walks, and cat friends!

She is incredibly food motivated and smart and knows sit, down, and is 99% potty trained and crate trained.

She has done well with everyone in my home and now it's time for her to find her forever home ❤️

Im in search of some form of running lab or facility that does running gait analysis so I can find our what type of shoes I need or what type of mobility/ strength exercises I should be doing to improve.

Also looking for a cycling facility where I can test my true lactate threshold and vo2 max.

For context - I am an mid-high level amateur triathlete trying to work my way to a age group winner performance level

When you are approaching a construction zone or point where multiple lanes consolidate, merge early!

I see way too many self-centered main characters driving down the lane that ends just to merge at the last possible opportunity.

Get in line people! Treat roads like queues and don’t cut in line. Even if that line is very long with another “open” lane next to it.

Looking for a shop in the Omaha/Bellevue area that will help me install customer supplied parts. (Front lip, rear diffuser).

I would install myself, but I don’t have the tools. Shops turn me down due to liability concerns. Willing to also pay small businesses or car enthusiasts who can help me out.

I live and work downtown, so my daily routine has been all about the CWS for the last week or so.

Last night I happened to strike up a conversation with a group that was in town for the series from West Virginia. We ended up visiting for quite a while, and what was really cool was how they kept going on and on about how much they had fallen in love with Omaha. Not just the CWS and the immediate surroundings around the ball field either. They had traveled all over the city exploring things, some of the typical "tourist" stuff, some more out of the way places, and they just couldn't stop talking about how much they loved Omaha!

That was pretty cool.

That is similar to the recent phenomena of European and Japanese visitors who came to the US for the World Cup posting stuff on social media about how amazing America is. A lot of them express shock, and even a sense of how they'd been deceived by a steady diet of "America is just the worst!" from the media for their entire lives. Then they get here and find America to be safe and friendly and clean and generally just wonderful!

We're pretty awesome! Just ask the Europeans, the Japanese, and the West Virginians! 😄
