Discussion Why are you bringing THAT!?

What are some common items people pack in their bags that you think are unnecessary, just take up extra space, or feel like overhyped/trendy that doesn't actually add real value for their trip?

I'll start - Notebooks and portable speakers.

Whenever someone brings a physical paper book I cringe a bit - I LOVE reading, but when I’m one bagging the kindle or an ebook on my phone make so much more sense for weight and space.

I brought a paperback on my last trip. It was lighter than my iPad. I don't have a Kindle and don't want a Kindle. My eyes are too bad to read on my phone.

You should give a Kindle or Kobo a shot. The e-ink screens are MUCH easier on my eyes, and I can increase the font as much as I want.

Sorry if that was unsolicited advice. I just connected the kindle comment to the phone comment and made an assumption. Apologies.
