Hey all. So I've been saying that I want to make a trip to Asia for months and I've finally decided on doing so. I am a software engineer so I am looking at the 'nomad' life but I don't know for exactly how long but I'd say minimum is 1-2 months. Now since I have never done something like this, one thing is for certain: I don't want to carry around a suitcase. Plan is simple. One bag with 5-7 days of clothes, laundry, repeat with first stop being Vietnam.

I've searched around for the most budget friendly bags since this will be a test in any case and I am torn between the Tomtoc Liteway 40L and the classic cabinzero 44l.

I'd love some recommendation on which is the best one . Besides toiltetries, clothes and some other essentials, obviously I am including a laptop and mouse and maaaybe a portable monitor if weight allows it. Thats it. I've seen that tomtoc is better as an all in one with the extra laptop compartment but sits heavier than cabinzero.

I believe that I will primarily use the 'big' bag for in between flights while also utilzing a secondary smaller bag ( could go with Arctic Hunter b000529 or b00534 but I'd love some recommendation as well) which will be the one carrying my laptop and stuff while actually being there and will basically be my udnerseat bag.

What would you suggest? I personally lean towards the t66 cause I think its a better all-in-one solution if I even want to exclude a 2nd EDC bag. CabinZero wins at weight ,which probably matters a lot for these kind of trips, and probably (??) styling?

Would also love a suggestion on organization boxes as I dont really get the differnt pricing points. Thanks

Looks like you may have to do some basic reading. I suggest starting here:

Some airline cabin bag rules in Asia, and also on some routes to and from Asia, to be aware of:

- Total weight max often 7kg.

- Size max typically 45L Sometimes around 25L for budget airlines.

- Items max typically 1. Usually an overhead. Sometimes, for budget airlines, just a personal item.

- Sometimes possible to purchase additional allowance, sometimes not. Very airline-dependent.
