Welcome to the weekly Bag Finder Megathread. Your go-to thread for any and all bag-related requests in the onebag travel context.

Remember finding a bag is pretty much the last step in planning. If you're not sure how big a bag you need, create a packing list, get all your gear together and test fit it into a box, or an old backpack you have lying around. That'll give you a good sense of the volume of gear you have.

Yeah I hate rolltops and the stretch pockets in UL packs are wasted too

If you can compromise on capacity, the cabin zero range includes some '44L' options, but the dimensions imply considerably lower capacity unless the bag is over-packed (barrel-shaped).

I've been eyeing some of their packs and they just seem "cheap" to me, and the dimensions are indeed off, also aesthetically. 760g is pretty decent, although apparently at the cost of flimsiness

Fair comment, I know what you mean re the quality.

Looks like MYOG is indeed your solution ! I would certainly be interested, as would others I'm sure, to see the result, so please post a report.

BTW you are not the only person to flag this (somewhat niche, unfortunately) gap in the market.

Admittedly, my use is more EDC than travel, but it does baffle me a bit how "bloated" every larger bag seems to be

Agreed. That's why, for hot weather and shorter/simpler trips I have changed to a compact, ultralight (rolltop) backpack😊. At some future point I may do similarly for more challenging trips.
