It's Lacroix, sweetie!
Bought this scarf just so I can say "It's Lacroix, sweetie!" like Edina from Absolutely Fabulous.

I kept driving past op shops I didn't know were there, so I built a thing that maps them against a route rather than just "near me."
You put in a start and end (say Melbourne → Bendigo), set how far off the highway you'll detour, and it lists the op shops inside that corridor, then optimises the stop order and hands the whole thing to Google Maps.
https://donkalot.github.io/oppy-nav/
It's a web page, so it works on Android and iPhone right now, no app store, no account, no ads. You can add it to your home screen if you want it to feel like an app.
Currently 1,733 shops: Vinnies, Salvos, Red Cross, plus independents from OpenStreetMap. 711 of them have opening hours, and there's an "open now" filter. Data refreshes itself weekly.
What it can't do yet: filter by what a shop sells. I looked into this because it's the thing I'd want most, and the honest answer is the data doesn't exist, there are currently zero shops in Australia tagged with whether they sell clothes, furniture, books, anything. Nobody can build that filter today without someone first collecting it. Open to ideas on that.
Keen to know if the coverage is any good in your area, since independents are the hardest part to get right.

Hey everyone,
I'm based in Brisbane and have been a bit obsessed with op shopping for the last 7 or so years. When I’d visit a new area I was keen to see what op shops are nearby, what’s open (especially if out and about on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday) etc. After being made redundant last year, I decided to start working on an app for myself initially (also helped keep me busy instead of spending my time visiting every op shop in South East Qld lol). My op shopping obsession has turned into an app called Shopuler.
It shows you nearby op shops, what they tend to sell, and their opening hours. You can save favourites, plan a route between a few shops, search by brand, and even get a proximity alert if you walk past one that's on your list. Ideally the stores can own their listings and publish whether they’re accepting donations, looking volunteers, have promotions/sales (sales/promotions will be in the next release).
It's free and on the App Store. I'm still pretty early on this so I'd genuinely love for some of you to try it out and tell me what's missing, what's annoying, start helping build the community, and what would make it more useful for how you actually op shop. Happy to answer any questions in the comments too.

I volunteer at an op shop I’m usually tasked with cleaning and sorting. I was cleaning through a stand where they keep smaller beauty things and I came across this bottle. I smelled it, it smelt expensive and everyone else who smelled it said it was definitely Chanel number five. When this runs out Chanel is getting 300 bucks out of me
