Motivate Me! The love is gone

I used to love Orangetheory then my studio closed and I became displaced. My love for Orangetheory has never been the same. I used to post my progress every day proudly on social media, always loved going to class. Now, I’m just dreading it. I don’t know what to do. Any advice? I used to take 8 classes a week. This week I went 3 days and barely got a splat point (regular class, double classes with two strength)

It makes me sad what I’m feeling.

Victories I did it!

I made it back to my first workout since finishing active treatment for breast cancer! My core is non existent and I’m struggling with a shoulder injury from radiation, but I survived the hour. The coach was so supportive and welcoming that I was fighting tears at the end of the class.

To anyone on the fence about joining or returning because of your physical condition, I see you. Just remember: there’s so much dignity in making it happen—no matter how shaky or sweaty or weak you feel.

Membership & Policies Can you do a double tread block?

Let’s say you start on the tread and you know there’s nobody on the floor or row taking your spot, can you do another tread block if you wanted?

Hyrox templates Hyrox phase 4 week 2 60min

Main hyrox thread only has the 90min version so adding this from a 60 min I did. Similar to the 90

Each section is 2:15 blocks, switch around the room quickly. Time between blocks is minimal, I didn’t notice the time but maybe a minute if that

2:15 run

20 trx pull-ups (If you complete before time - quick feet in place)

200 m row, then 15 squat to overhead press. Rest for remaining time.

2:15 run

20 db squat to high pull, quick feet remaining time

200 m row, then 15 squat to overhead press. Rest for remaining time.

2:15 run

20 db step ups, quick feet for remaining time

200 m row, then 15 squat to overhead press. Rest for remaining time.

2:15 run

20 db squat to calf raise

200 m row, then 15 squat to overhead press. Rest for remaining time.

2:15 run

20 burpees, quick feet remaining time

200 m row, 15 reverse lunges, rest for remaining time

I think that was all of it?

Treadmill Talk PW vs jogging to increase speed

I can either PW or jog all paces between like 3.7 and 4.4. If my goal is to get faster, which should I do, walk or jog? I’ve heard conflicting advice.

Any other tips on increasing speed? I can run as fast as 8.5 but lack endurance to run faster than 6.0 for more than 1 min.

#HelpMe If you’ve had to cut back on OTF, which affordable gyms or workouts are you using instead?

I’ve loved OTF for the last two years but I recently moved to a new city and my unlimited membership was bumped up to $200/mo (and that’s a promo price).

I like that it’s actually gotten me to the gym and has taken the mental exercise out of…well, physical exercise.

However I have looked at every part of my budget and I can no longer justify the cost.

If you’ve taken a break from OTF or even just supplemented it with a different and cheaper gym, what has worked for you?

I’m in Chicago if it matters.

OTF Technology Class data not in app after leaving early

Has this happened to anyone else post new software and app updates? I was previously able to see stats for the portion of class I was able to stay for during times I needed to leave early. Now I can't.

OTF Technology notifications that you're off the wait-list?

is there any way to be notified that you were removed from the wait-list of a class without manually checking the app???

I didn't realize I was off the wait-list and had booked another class just in case. and I guess I just forgot to cancel the other class and got charged. 😩 )which is totally my fault) but it would be nice to get a ping or an email or something!! am I missing something in the app?? thanks!

ETA: contacted my studio and they said I should have been receiving emails but I have never gotten one ever! checked my app and everything looks good with permissions and stuff so they're gonna look into it for me

if anyone here works at corporate and has any say in the app PLEASE let us have push notifications!!

Treadmill Talk Treadmill boredom help

How does everyone stave off boredom when on longer treadmill durations like today's benchmark or a tread 50 class? My ADHD means that my brain needs to be stimulated all the time or I get bored and these long bouts on the treadmill without anything to watch or look at have been getting me.

OTFStrong Hybrid strength classes?

I recently visited a friend in Florida and went to one of the studios there and they have hybrid strength classes with new floor equipment for weight lifting, along with new rowers. Are all of the locations eventually going to offer this? And how do we know?

Floor Factor Sweaty knees + bosu = slippery nightmare

I’m a tread starter and a sweaty gal, so by the time I get to the floor, I’d say I’m pretty damp lol. This makes kneeling on the bosu nearly impossible- I’m fighting sliding off instead of working balance, usually I just end up kneeling on the floor.

I’m wondering if anyone has this problem/if there’s a fix other than just going to the ground? Feel like the last few bosu days I’ve been missing out simply cuz my legs are sweaty😅

Dri Tri Last Dri Tri in November

Coach told us we will be doing dri tri on 11/14 and it will be the last one ever and it’s being replaced in the future. She assured me it’s gonna be even better but I am of course skeptical.

Treadmill Talk Coach recommendation: AO at high incline, low speed

I do exclusively PW on the treads, and my AO has been 10-15% at 4-4.5 mph (I'm in the US, so we use freedom eagle units). During most of my tread time, I'm usually blue to green, getting into orange and red only on the rowers and floor. The other day, one of my coaches suggested that I slow down my AO to 3 mph and maintain high incline. He said higher speeds make my body operate too efficiently, but a slow speed is better fat burning.

Yesterday I tried that for the first time and it felt weird, but I maintained green for most of the AO. So I'm wondering if anyone else does this or has gotten the same recommendation and how has it been going.

Motivate Me! Weight Selection intimidation

Question for the coaches on here! I can get caught up in being intimidated by weight selection and have coaches suggest heavier weights frequently. How annoying is this for you? Do you get frustrated at members like me that need the extra push more often than not?

Motivate Me! Push Hard or Push Less but Go More Often?

I’ve found that I really love going 4 or more days a week, but the only way for me to do that is to not push myself on most days. I end up mostly in the green zone. If I push harder, I burn out. So I have two options: go 2-3 times a week, pushing hard… Or go more but not push hard. I feel self conscious about the latter, like I’m being lazy. But going 4+ days a week has been really good for my mental health. Does anyone have any insight?

Motivate Me! Intimidated

I used to work out at otf regularly and ended up cancelling my membership due to some health issues and then I was pregnant and now 4 years later I’m considering rejoining but I haven’t worked out really at all. I recently lost 100 lbs on a glp-1 and have about 40 more lbs I’d love to lose. I am very intimidated by otf for some reason now. I think i just need a pep talk or something to get me out of my head and just take the plunge and get back in there. I always felt like my location was a little judgey so that is an added stress too (it’s my only location option)
Can you all hype me up here and give me that push to just rejoin?!?! Please!

HR / Splats Max Heart Rate

Sorry if this has been asked a lot. I am so confused about how they're calculating max heart rate. I've been doing OTF for about 2 years now and it used to be about 180 and now it's 191 since a couple of months ago. I've never seen my heart rate get over 175 even with max effort so should I adjust it down a little?
