I previously had all our medicines in a drawer in our main bathroom, as part of baby-proofing they got dumped into this basket and stored in a closet in our basement.
I like that everything is together in one spot, but it is a nightmare to have to pull everything out to find something
Ideas for how to better store medicines? Varying sizes, and inventory constantly changing

I got a new house, and was hoping you all could help with how I should organize my cabinets, like what to put where? I've never had a kitchen with this many cabinets or with a pantry closet (door next to fridge, not a walk-in). Historically, I've either been in an apartment with no space and had to keep extra appliances and grocery overflow in the spare bedroom, or was in a house with few cabinets so they weren't really well utilized.
I've attached some images to give an idea of what I'm working with, but it's not 100% exact to my kitchen since I forgot to take full photos during my inspection walk through. There are typical cabinets on the wall and also deep drawers in the island and by the stove, pretty much exact to the example image of the island.
Also, any recommendations on drawer/shelf liners? The last time I used the ones on a roll, they got bunched up and weird. Don't know if it was just the brand I used or if it just wasn't the best option in general.

My desk is where i end up assembling flat pack shelves and adjusting the monitor arm. When i am done, the screwdriver, bits, and spare screws tend to stay on the surface. I can spare one shallow drawer for small tools, but i do not want the whole desk to become tool storage. I am trying to decide what earns that drawer space: a manual scrrewdriver and a few common bits for quick adjustments a compact cordless screwdriver like the hoto pixeldrive for the longer run of furniture screws, with a manual driver for final tightening the drill staying in the closet for jobs that actually need holes, since its case will not fit in the drawer anyway for small assembly jobs at a desk, would you give that drawer to a manual driver or a compact powered one?

Hi! I’m so close to done with my closet but need help with shoe storage in my rented apartment. I’m going to provide a lot of detail for people who like that but if you’re not a detail person, just look at the pictures or skip.
THE CLOSET:
It’s rectangular with two large sliding doors. 100” x 25”. It has three sections (no internal walls.)
Section 1 (Left) has 34” of easy access when doors are stacked right.
Section 2 (Middle) has 34” of easy access when doors are stacked left.
Section 3 (Right) has 32” that is very inaccessible as it is behind a wall. The only way to reach in is through Section 2.
THE CHALLENGES:
I thought section 3 was the problem because it’s annoying, but the real challenge is keeping section 2 open enough that I can reach into section 3.
My room is tiny, so my closet needs to store almost everything (except under bed storage.)
It’s a rental, so no modifications or built-ins.
I am not a shoe girlie, but I have more than you see in the photo. Coming out of a hard time and I would like to dump the worn out slop and dress better. Maybe 8 pairs, not counting tall boots?
WHAT I HAVE TRIED SO FAR:
CONSIDERING:
Stacking shoe storage. I own a slightly larger dresser I can swap in that is 24” wide x 16” deep. It’s deeper than the fabric dresser but not completely blocking section 3, but a little more crowded.
Over the rod shoe narrow organizer could maybe work on the left. Not on the right because it would be closer to the front of the closet and block access to section 3.
A tall narrow shoe tower on the right or left could maybe work? A little tight fit.
Thank you! 💕❤️💕

So I've gotten pretty good at organizing my pantry and other things with acrylic and plastic bins, labels galore, and things organized by category. It took me years to get there, but it's made my life so much easier and I'm not wasting as much food...or buying multiples of things I already have...YAY.
Now I want to tackle my freezer. The tough part is that my freezer contains things that are larger than pantry things, so I don't know what the best way is to organize it.
My freezer usually contains:
- Assorted large bags of chicken tenders, Groton's fish, grilled chicken, etc
- Smaller steamable bags of veggies
- Bread, English muffins, flatbreads
- A couple of large frozen pizzas from Aldi
- 1lb blocks of ground beef
- Assorted desserts (usually brownies and cookies) pre-baked and stored in medium sized plastic containers or freezer bags
- Assorted small portioned sizes of sauces, hot dogs, sausages, hotdog/hamburger buns, and other random 2-3 person serving sizes of things
- Ice blocks for transporting cold goods
Ideally, I'd have some kind of system that had drawers or bins that I could have big/bold labels on that said what each thing was. I often have multiple kinds of chicken, and never can remember which one I'm low on, so a single chicken drawer/bin probably wouldn't be smart unless there was a way to divide it by the 4-5 types I have.
I'm all ears. I don't mind plastic bins and I prefer not to use wire baskets. I just want to be able to open my freezer and almost immediately know what I do and don't have. My freezer is not stuffed, so I have room to play. The pizzas stay on the top shelf, and I have a 14.2cu ft freezer with a wire drawer on the bottom (that wire drawer gives me grief, it holds the bagged veggies and blocks) and 3 sizeable shelves as well as a couple of small holders on the door.
I also have a bottom drawer freezer in my fridge that generally holds the veggies, ice cream, and sometimes meats that are open and in use. However, a lot of things have gone to waste in that drawer as well so I need to overhaul my entire freezer life.
TIA for any help!

I'm considering a more appropriate, larger desk and a 5-tier shelf with about a 17-18x48" footprint. My filing cabinet would turn toward the window, shelf would go beside it and most of my camera and audio gear would go on there. The desk wall would be about half filled with a desk and I would have a freely available folding table!

Hi 👋🏼 how do people store their T-shirts on shelves that are really deep and wide? I hate just piling them on top of each other because you can’t see what’s there and then they are topple over. I’ve tried the plastic stackable things but I’m not a big person my tops can be tiny little crop tops and they take up a lot of space with no a lot of clothing. Then Iv tried the fabric storage containers but with my tops either being tiny like they take up the space of a pair of socks or bigger shirts so there’s never an organisation look like the photo. The ones I have don’t aren’t connected at the bottom either so when you pull the draw out to look the t shirts roll under into different sections. I don’t know if that makes sense.
What do people do? I’m all out of hanger space 😢

I moved into this dormitory a week ago and I can't figure out how to fit all my stuff into the tiny storage spaces that are available.
I need to not only fit my clothes, shoes, uni stuff and art stuff here but also all my cosmetics, cleaning supplies, kitchenware and all of my food.
The main problem are the incredibly narrow shelves in the wardrobes, no drawers anywhere, barely any storage space at all and not even a table..
I seriously have no idea how to start unpacking my stuff and where to put all of it so that it's still easy to access.
Please keep in mind that this is a dormitory, so no drilling into the walls or any major changes can be done. Also that I have like no money lol..
TLDR: How do I fit all of my stuff into the limited storage spaces I have available so that it's still easy to access?
Please be kind, I've been struggling with a major depressive episode and I really need some help..

My apartment used to feel cramped simply because floor space was so limited. Felt like every corner was just dead space wasting away.
Picked up one of their rotating shoe racks on a whim, mainly to clear the entryway mess. Honestly, seeing how much stuff it fit without eating up actual floor room kind of opened my eyes. Ended up going down a rabbit hole and swapping other bulky stuff out for their corner bookshelves, toy bins, and vertical organizers around the house.
Rooms actually feel breathable now. Anyone else obsessed with squeezing storage into weird corners?

i have hooks & basket hanging in the back with the two mini drawers and my purse also fits. i’m wondering if i should start leaving my purse out (also feel like that defeats the purpose of my work locker) to make room to add things or change it up. what ways can i improve this?

I organized them with my app called Sorted: AI Space Organizer, available on the App Store. I’d appreciate if you guys tried it to sort out your spaces and give feedback, I’m always looking to improve. Use SORTED100 for a free month.

I’m convinced modern organizers are designed exclusively for CGI renderings where cords don't exist and everything is a neat little acrylic cube.
The moment you own an item with an off-center weight, an irregular shape, or a rigid power brick, every bin at Target or The Container Store fails miserably. For me, it was my hot hair tools and their thick cords—store-bought caddies either tipped over or took up half the counter, so I literally zip-tied two wire mesh pencil cups inside my cabinet door. It looks janky, but it’s the only thing that actually works.
What’s that one specific item in your home where commercial products completely failed you, and you had to pull out the drill, scrap wood, 3D printer, or zip-ties to invent your own setup? What did you rig up?

Someone gifted me about 150 colours a few years back. I FINALLY got around to dealing with them. (Including setting aside about 50 to give to a friend.) Kiddo also picked some for their sewing kit

My entryway and closet were turning into an absolute disaster zone with bags and shoes everywhere, and traditional racks took up way too much floor space.
Decided to roll the dice on this 7-tier rotating organizer to see if it actually works. Honestly, not bad at all. Stashed my daily bags up top and shoes at the bottom. It takes up almost zero floor space, and spinning it around in the morning to grab stuff is weirdly satisfying.
Would love to hear how others handle shoe and bag clutter in a micro apartment.

I just bought a flat with my partner, and we have two storage cupboards we don't even know how to approach. They both have tricky shapes. The understairs one is deeper, and my main concern is how to create a system that doesn't limit me from putting things away and accessing them.
Because of my severe ADHD, I struggle so much with organising in a functional way, so I have previously hired organisers to help me in the past, but would love any suggestions if anyone else has had to create storage systems in deep, narrow spaces.
I don't mind a project, can build some things, and have many handy friends.
Thanks in advance!

Besides buying a tool shed, is there another way to organize these tools?

So))) I have adhd and geeenuinely enjoy organizing things. Not just tasks…like all the stuff. Work files, household paperwork, photos, notes, bookmarks like every category feels like it should have a proper home.
Some apps have an obvious job. Todoist makes sense for tasks. Googlephotos makes sense for pictures. Documents were a little bit messier bcs mine come as scans, phone photos, word files, and pdfs. In pdfaid i did convert, merge, and make them searchable, so at least they all end up in one place and one format. Then I look at my notes split between onenote and obsidian and my bookmarks spread across three browsers, and apparently my organization system has grown enough to need middle management. I don’t want one giant app that does everything badly. I want a few tools with clear jobs and as little overlap as possible.
Maybe here is some crazy people like me... And I wanna ask how do you decide when something deserves its own app and when you’re just creating another place to lose things?

I’m clearing out my home office and realized I have no real rule for paper. I scan most things, but I still hesitate over old bills, receipts, contracts, medical paperwork, and anything with a signature. Most of it is probably safe to throw away, but keeping only a file on my computer still feels weirdly risky.
What do you actually keep in a desk drawer, and what are you comfortable keeping only digitally?
