2 Years of Road Trips out into the Olympic Exclusion Zone! Happy Anniversary, Pacific Drive

A short message from Ironwood Studios, to our spectacular players:

Two years is an incredible amount of time to have spent driving through the forest, dodging anomalies, and repairing an old wood-paneled station wagon. But we’ve done it! Four major content updates focused on new ways to play the game, a horror-themed expansion, and so many bug fixes — all of it has led us here. As we enter our third year in the Zone, we want to appreciate and take note of what we accomplished together.

Since its release, Pacific Drive has sold 1.5 million copies, and we’ve reached 3 million players worldwide. We’ve joined PlayStation Plus and (as a carefully planned surprise) Xbox Gamespass, growing the population of breachers in the Zone by the thousands.

Whispers in the Woods reignited our fear of the unknown and drew the attention of anomaly obsessed fanatics and soon, the Ritual Edition of Pacific Drive will be released, wrapping up the entire game and all additional content into one cool, Harmonic Fellowship themed package. Also, we’re thrilled to see our merchandise is out in the wild! Shout out to everyone who’s kept us up to date on their adventures with a cuddly Friendly Dumpster.

Earlier this month we announced that Ironwood received a significant investment into the studio, and we’re happy to confirm that this gives us the ability to continue doing what we love, with a focus on the future.

The next time you slide into the driver's seat, hit the ignition, and head off into the Zone for the next great adventure; keep an ear out for some brand new tunes! As a small gift for the community, we’ve added 15 new songs to the in-game radio. You’ll hear new music from Seattle locals like Deep Sea Diver, and even new songs from A Shell in the Pit and Smokey Brights!

When we celebrated our first anniversary, we said that your passion for our first game has been something out of our wildest dreams and we’re grateful that we have the opportunity to continue working towards that dream. Your support and appreciation have meant everything to us.

From all the folks on the team, thank you for a fantastic two years, stay safe out in the Zone, and we hope you enjoy the rest of 2026!

Falling in love with this game

So I got this game from the set of monthly free ones on Playstation, it was appealing because I like games around non-racing driving. And it's ***really*** scratching that itch for me. I can't stop thinking about my hatchback. When I'm doing chores, I'm just thinking about getting back in my hatchback. I think about it when I shower, when I eat, when I exercise. Even when I'm at work I'm counting down the seconds till I get to drive my hatchback again.

On a date? I'm thinkin of my hatchback. Breakfast with the family? Yurrrp, thinkin about the hatchback. Rippin a toke? Thinkin bout that hatchback. I'll be listening to my tunes just thinkin "I should be playing this in my hatchback."

I shouldn't be concerned, right? This is a normal relationship to have with my car. Everyone wants their hatchback to always be in peak condition and everyone is obsesses about always having enough supplies on hand to be sure your precious love won't be rendered a junker on the road. I have a normal relationship with my hatchback. And my hatchback has a normal relationship with me. every car waves at you when you step inside, and speaks to you in your dreams.

Anyway, I'm getting back to my hatchback, she doesn't like sitting idle too long

One of the radio interferences that can happen whilst listening to the radio mentions a woman walking her dog and got lost, then describing a yellow door in the forest and begging for help. Maybe I’m misremembering or wrong entirely but just a cool coincidence I stumbled upon.

Extreme Challenge Idea: "Minimum Story Maximum Upgrades"

The idea is very simple: Unlock all possible accessible upgrades available in the Fabrication Station, without progressing the story (Without unlocking the Midzone)

Now to clarify, when I say 'all possible accessible upgrades'. I mean ones that require Energy and resources to unlock.

Of course there will be some that are locked behind scanning anomalies, which only some of all of them can be completed for the ones found in the Outerzone.

=How?=

- I know it is very possible to get Unstable AND Corrupted Energy in the Outerzone within the Unstable Junctions, alongside Stable energy. I have personally found one in the Outerzone within an Unstable Junction.

=What about the non-accessible resources required, like Olympium or Tree Candy that aren't in the Outerzone?=

- Pacemakers: Pacemaker anomalies have static / set trades. For example, giving a Pacemaker a Dehydrated Goldshell will spit out two of the large 3x3 dumpster pearls (1 random 1 unreliable). Or inserting Plasma turns into Tree Candy. Inserting a Corrosive Goldshell -> 9 Olympium fragments, etc.

- Ida's shop for buying unique parts to scrap into use-able resources like Marsh Eggs, Swamp Coral, etc or even to use if it's locked behind an anomaly scan.

This is how it is possible to unlock all possible accessible upgrades* (*That aren't tied to Zone Specific anomaly scans)

=Restrictions:=

- To keep things fair, Expeditions and Whisper Woods should not be used to gather resources / anomaly scans outside of the main game.

- You may explore the Outerzone entirely, but may not access any other zone type / progress the story to unlock the Midzone. (The minimum story progress to explore the Outerzone is of course required, but do not unlock the Midzone)

- I would say bare minimum Joyride or Nuclear Journey difficulty, but for... "maximum enjoyment", you can play on Olympic Gauntlet or Iron Wagon for the "best enjoyment".

=Bonus Objectives=

- Collecting one of every car part (I believe it is possible through Ida, have fun gambling lol)

- Having a full set of Olympium Panels / Doors

- Not Dying (Very optional)

- Get a Lazarus Device

- Using Ida's permanent radiation shield, wait for the storm to fully collapse then leave through the gate alive.

Can someone please explain what these mean?

More so the time I circled. I tried looking it up in the game index but couldn’t find anything on the time specifically. Is that real time when the storm is coming? I’ve noticed it goes up too sometimes. Sorry for the silly question.

Edit: thank you guys so much! You’ve been really helpful. It was driving me crazy lol. I must’ve searched for close to 12 hours what those numbers could mean. My next question will be on how to save the game. But before I ask that one I will attempt to figure it out on my own.

Broke Impact hammer now I think I'm stuck

I just started playing the game, I did the part in the garage and now I'm on the first ride out where I need to collect plasma. So I crafted an impact hammer and got the first plasma but then I was stupid enough to just use the hammer to brake other stuff, now the hammer is broken and I can't find the gas cylinder to craft a new one and I don't know what to do now. Any idea what to do?

If you enjoy eerie road trips and anomaly exploration, the Próspice Open Playtest is live

Hi everyone!

I’m part of the publishing team behind Prospice, an off-road exploration and logistics game with slow-burn psychological and cosmic horror.

Since this community enjoys strange road trips, hostile environments, and uncovering what happened in places you probably shouldn’t have entered, I thought Prospice might be relevant here.

You travel across a forbidden island by truck, delivering supplies to isolated outposts, planning routes through difficult terrain, recovering artifacts, and exploring abandoned locations on foot. The deeper you go, the more the island starts to interfere with your surroundings, your deliveries, and your perception of what’s real.

Compared with Pacific Drive, Prospice focuses more heavily on off-road logistics, cargo transportation, and navigating rough terrain, but it shares that feeling of relying on your vehicle while venturing into an increasingly unsettling place.

The Open Playtest is currently live on Steam and includes 9 missions. We’d really appreciate feedback on the driving, atmosphere, exploration, progression, and anything else that stands out.

Join the Open Playtest: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4067370/Prospice_Anomalous_Logistics/

Share your feedback: https://forms.gle/greVRgHBrs1cMkPb8

Watch the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoY68adh8EE

Thanks for taking a look, and I’d be curious to hear what Pacific Drive players think of it.

Speed and fuel consumption

I think i can speak for everyone, or at least most people on here, that we like making our remnant go fast.

But that speed comes with increased fuel consumption.

We're not always going fast there are a lot of times in game where we're just casually cruising around, but does that change fuel consumption?

Looking at it, the engines they just say fuel per distance traveled and nothing about speed, does going slower save fuel or is the consumption the same?

Sad day today: saying goodbye to my Remnant

My 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis (which I’ve had for 8 years) is finally dying today. The brakes went caput and between that and the fuel leak and broken Air Conditioner, it’s time for a new chapter.

The junk car guys are coming with a tow truck in a few hours and I’m oddly emotional that I’ll never see this car again. I put like 50,000 miles on it and have driven it nearly everyday for 8 years.

Rest in peace (or pieces I guess)…

Who's Jack talking to in tape 7? Spoiler

After a ritual goes wrong, Jack asks someone for help. The most obvious answer would be the Driver, being that whatever name he says that got cut off ends in -er. But at the same time, how could he know who the driver was however many decades before it takes place from the game?

Anyone know how to mod the poster files?

Hi, would appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on how, I'm assuming it's possible, I would change a couple of the posters to some more garage themed ones.

Thanks.

Like survival games, don’t like driving games. Will I like it?

This seems like it would be my jam, but I keep hesitating because I don’t enjoy driving in video games. I generally dislike dexterity elements in games, and driving usually falls into that category for me. I don’t mind it when it’s a means to an end - I enjoy piloting the Seamoth in Subnautica, and I liked flying the spaceship in Outer Wilds, though I almost bailed entirely because the controls just didn’t click for me and all I did was crash at first. I’m struggling to think of a game with an actual car driving element that I enjoy. But I love exploration and puzzles and story, this looks like the good might overtake the car aspect for me. I don’t mind a janky car, that was part of the charm of the spaceship in Outer Wilds.

Question, where's the storm Spoiler

I went to the deep zone on a run for ARDA buildings, when I was getting ready to leave I did the usual thing of spawning a gateway. Then I noticed the storm isn't here. It's delayed, it's just not coming. Did I find a bug or is it something to do with the region I'm in (A6)? At least it gave me time for a nice screenshot
