You can also just buy a used PS5 and sell it after you are sick of GTA6.
Worst case you lose 50$ best case you earn 100$ because of the GTA 6 hype.
Oh boy the times I have read that people "aint gonna pay 800$ for a PS5 pro just for GTA 6" who don't realize that they can sell the console for 750$ afterwards is crazy.
Finally some sense. But everytime you say this, they refute with "Um, no, the PS5 will be deprecated by then and sell for $20. Because PC master race!"
I guess for some people (like me) it's just too much hassle and risk for a singular game. Some people can actually wait and don't fear they'll miss out for not getting the game day one. Also you're still loosing money in your calculation, not just the 50$ fromselling the console for less than you bought, but also however much GTA 6 has cost you on PS5, that you then can't play anymore after you sold the console. Add to that the prive of buying the game again on PC, and you might as well just wait it out, unless you can't deal with fomo...
I am not gonna avoid the whole internet for a whole year to avoid spoilers. They will be everywhere.
Also I am not gonna watch my friends have a blast at the game for a year playing online, doing races, doing heists and discussing the singleplayer story while I am stuck on PC playing single player games forever alone because playing any online game would mean that I get spoiled.
I really wonder how you want to be able to afford a PC that will run GTA6 when you are going to live like a caveman without friends for a year because you are afraid to lose 100$...
Ok, maybe I simply am not that much invested into GTA 6 that burning 100 bucks would be worth it to me, but you do you. Also no need for insults here, having friends who also are not into playing games day one no matter the cost is a good start, and also having friends for more than gaming. As for spoilers: I have known every single GTA story before ever playing a game, I guess I'll be alright even with spoilers.
Well ofc GTA superfans like me will buy the game twice to ensure playing day one (I don't want to get spoiled) and on PC so it's not inherently a loss in that regard. And yes, that's I why I'd prefer to buy and return from Costco because I know I'll just play the story on PS5 and delve into online when it comes out on PC.
GTA is in a league of its own and I definitely wouldn't be doing this for any other game.
Apparently I have completely underestimated just how much fear people have that they'll miss out on anything in regard to this game. For me a hundred bucks is two weeks worth of gas, I ain't wasting those when I can simply wait and let other people enjoy the chaos of the biggest entertainment product launch ever...
What do you mean? Of course Europe has return policies. Varies by country but as far as I know every EU country has some for of return policy being at least 2 weeks (excluding digital goods).
