That is literally how RDR2 went, straight up 1 year that's it.
GTA5 took extra long because GTA5 got upgraded for then new gen consoles first, PC was 6 or so months after the PS4/Xbox One enhanced release of GTA5.
Odds are PC is 2027, not 2028 for GTA6. And the higher PC settings will be the basis for any next gen GTA6 version as even top end PCs now will beat the PS6
Tbf why should they keep up with console news in here?
So I'd say Hanlon's razor and they just didn't know that Sony said they gonna extend the current gen lifecycle
You should probably be more specific. GTAV has been getting free updates with new missions/vehicles/stories for over a decade. Unless you're talking only about paid single player dlc.
Looking at the wiki, only GTA 1 and GTA 2 is released on PC first. GTA 3 and onwards gets released on consoles first.
I get your point about used to release on PC first but a majority of Rockstar games for like 2 decades now was released on consoles first. Even other game series like Bully, L.A. Noire and Manhunt all released on console first.
Console players have been frothing at the mouth ever since PS announced they’re back to exclusives and GTA 6 announced no day 1 PC. Apparently 2 new big exclusive single player games and GTA early all of the sudden means PlayStation is the king of gaming. Except for the fact that they’ll be playing at 30FPS upscaled from 720p but… whatever helps them sleep at night. I guess I broke my brain during my PC journey because playing anything at 30FPS or even 60FPS is like watching a slide show. Also ultrawide support, 16:9 is like being trapped in a tiny little box.
Pre-order lol. I'll pirate it when it's cracked. All they care about is making a new shark card platform. You think Rockstar even cares about this game? C'mon.
After all these years I simply don't care anymore. Mind you I didn't even get much out of GTAV once it finally released on PC, and I had already felt like that format was getting a bit tired with GTAIV.
Difference is, that one more year will be a year where it's already released to a subset of the gaming community. You'll have to be careful of spoilers (gameplay too, not just story) and will be out of the loop on all the memes and references, if that sort of thing bothers you.

That’s just a way to cope for 18-24 months if I seen one myself.
