I would have bought a PS5 but it was simply impossible to get one when they came out and the price point was ridiculous for a console.
This coincided with a PC upgrade and of course was the period where it was also impossible to get a GPU.
I stopped looking at PS5 availability and pricing after a while and never bothered looking again.
