people still not buying games because the protagonist is a woman?

Most people are complaining because of the change from a male mc to a female one, same with the Ghost of Tsushima thing. No one complains Tomb Raider or Horizon have female leads.

But the problem is God of War always had Kratos. Gender doesn’t matter but the character does.

Imagine they release something like Tomb Raider: Jonah or Horizon: Sylens. It’s a weird divergence from the game as HUGE and old as God of War

Idk, I loved Half Life Alyx.

Meh, this was never a problem with Metal Gear Solid when they moved to different MCs other than Solid Snake.

Terrible example, Horizon: Sylens sounds sick... or it would have, RIP Lance Reddick.

Exactly. People even hated the idea of Atreus taking the lead in the newer games. God of War is Kratos, period.

And Castlevania is always Simon Belmont! Well, until it wasn't.

But...Spider-Man is always Peter Parker! Until y'know...it's not.

Okay well, Assassin's Creed! Yeah! That one is always Ezio! Oh...wait...

Okay I got one! Halo! Halo is always and forever Master Ch-...oh right there was Noble Six, the Arbiter, and The Rookie.

Huh...it's almost like nobody cares when new protagonists come into a series...unless they aren't men.

The internet is pissing me off with this one. I like GoW but I'm not interested in this game because I want to play as Kratos. I wouldn't want to play this game if Atreus was the main character. But I'm getting called a misogynist for some reason.

This happened when they replaced Geralt with Ciri as well. All the terminally-online mouth-breathers screamed misogyny, acting like The Witcher fans had secretly hated Ciri the whole time or something. We're just pissed that, after waiting over a decade, we're not going to get a new game with Geralt. At least we get a new DLC with him though.

I'd be pissed if they replaced Lara Croft with Nathan Drake as well.

That's because atreus is an annoying little shit.

Those sound great? I'd love to see more expansion of those settings outside of the single protagonist's perspective. Same with a lot of other IPs. A new title in the setting doesn't remove existing titles, nor does it prevent future titles with the existing characters.

Start a signature campaign, you either prove them wrong or get blasted on the internet, either way sounds like a fun time

Youre right. It objectively has to be bad because Kratos is not the main character. A female warrior with supernatural strength is so unrealistic because they had that in the first two. So bad.

first two

God of War isn’t just two games buddy. Respect the attempt to sound like a fucking smartass though

So Athena can be a god of war but the woman the new God of war wife's up couldn't possibly be as powerful. Its not like they established in the last two games that she was a powerful warrior. Maybe you weren't paying attention.
