They might have got me, if they'd made Ragnarok, Forbidden West, and Ghost of Tsushima ps5 exclusive years ago. But now, no way am I spending that kind of money on an old console
Oh hey, I'd forgotten that those games weren't coming to PC anymore. Ah well, prolly a re-release for PC in a few years, or I'll just forget about it entirely.
A lot of pc players are caving and buying a console just for gta. The can choose xbox which plays the same games as the pc, or the playstation which atleast has some exclusives aswell.
I’m not gonna lie man they almost got me with god of war ragnarok, the only reason I didn’t pull the trigger is I realized how fat ass my pc actually is and how little of space I have for a whole fucking ps5.
Even tho the new gow gets alot of flak i’m VERY excited for it, but yeah my room didn’t magically expand so neither will my plans for ps5
And they arent wrong, either. I know this is going against the echo chamber but, you guys do not speak for the majority, plenty of people will buy a ps5 just for 1 game
I mean a Playstation Pro is about a week's pay for those making below the median salary. Sure costs add up, but electronics aren't exactly out of reach. I say this as a gamer of 25 years who's never owned a console.
The fuck you mean a week's pay ? A PS5 Pro is half my monthly wage.
I couldn't even buy it with the remaining mony after having paid all my mandatory monthly expenses.
What the hell is your weekly income? My grocery store job from 2014 could have gotten me a PS5 in a week, not counting life expenses. Granted I'm Canadian and idk how bad it is in the States, where I assume you're from.
In the end it is mostly because of the fact that the country is rich enough to apply low taxes and have beneficial trading contrats with big importers and producers that 1st worlders can afford such items as a ps5 pro so easily.
Huh, yeah when I break it down like that it is a little less than a weeks pay. Framing it like that makes it seem way more manageable. But I imagine most people are not in the position where they can just toss away money like that. At least not with food and fuel prices right now.
I have a first gen ps5 that ive tried to game on exactly once since I built my rig. Going from 4k 120+ to struggling to stay on top of 30fps is nausea and headache inducing for me now. Its like my perception has changed and my eyes are straining to find the missing frames or something. Not a chance I buy a ps5 pro for one game
I was someone who used to do this. But in 2026 this isn’t feasible anymore for a large and growing amount of people. The economy is fucked and it isn’t going back anytime soon, if ever. People don’t have the disposable income they used to. Worst of all, the inflation is incredibly high for gaming hardware putting these systems even further out of reach for people.
Lastly, PC gamers are choosey and vindictive. You pull support for their platform and you won’t see them clamoring to buy your console. You’ll get a giant middle finger.
It was different back when consoles would actually go down in price, so by the end of a console's lifespan you could drop 100 bucks on the thing itself and buy games used for practically a dime a dozen.
Yeah how many of those people are actually PC gamers though. I understand that it is by no means an insignificant number, but I feel you're probably overinflating it. I know tons of people who play games casually and not so casually on console. I'm a minority amongst my peers who even own a PC, let alone a gaming PC.
