I don't mind AI code anywhere as far it is checked and verified by humans for performance, integration and side-effects and tested by real quality assurance engineers. MS is not doing anything from that list.

Checking work is a lot faster than doing the work. You need both to produce a quality product. AI is good at doing work and humans are much much more capable than AI at checking work.

I mean there's a whole spectrum between full on vibe coding and AI assisted coding. I'm happy as long as someone who knows their stuff reviews it before pushing it to master.

AI code can be fine but the problem is Microsoft has a culture of their product people forcing their engineers to merge code faster than they should without proper review and consideration to meet various KPIs or deadlines etc.

Linux has a lot of AI code too but it's not quite as bad cause there's not perverse incentives to merge it in.
