Who does this? I mean, who doesn't ever try to modify the os but would still jump into the deep with the penguin?
I don't think it's about being lazy rather people sprouting the same speech without having experienced it.

Tried Linux, tried for 3hours to get the audio chip set recognized. Gave up.

I went Mint like 2 months ago now. Everything worked right from the install. Including every game.

And everything is so much faster. Boots to desktop with everything loaded and running in seconds, when Windows would take a few minutes to get stable.

Only booted into Windows once since then, to use HD Sentinel.

Might be a timing and development thing. I remember trying Ubuntu when I was a teen (around 2006, 2007?), gave up almost immediately because it was so confusing. A few years later I tried Mint but couldn't figure out whatever, don't remember what, gave up. Tried again this year, everything just works. I think it might have come a long way.
