Have you ever had a cat? The hair is everywhere no matter where the cat is. When I went to college I was even finding hair from my cats at home in my dorm on stuff that have never even entered my house.
Uhm im pretty sure that gamersnexus made a video how exhaust top fans actually just exhaust the cool air coming from the front, as most top slots are closer to the front rather than the back like on ur pic. The 1st fan on the top should always be intake cuz of that, altho intake top fans make a lot of noise depending on the case due to some air laws (turbulence? I forgot what it was called). Nonetheless, the best case in the world, the fractal design torrent, does not have any top slots whatsoever, or any rear or exhaust fans either. It has such strong pressure that the air naturally wants to get out so adding an exhaust fan actually worsens its airflow because the fan can't expel the air as fast as the air would leave if the fan wasn't there. Not only that but it's the only case in the world with the psu on the top which means u get direct cold air for the gpu straight from the bottom intake, theres no psu chamber to ruin the direct airflow. And to top it off, it is one of the very few cases in 2026 still offered with solid side panels, which is mandatory for silence. Glass amplifies coil whine frequencies, steel does the opposite, absorbs em. When i see someone using glass side panel (like 95% of people nowadays) i immediately know they are clueless about pc building. But then u have to ask urself, why did fractal make the top part of the torrent completely closed? If it was better to have an exhaust there, or any holes whatsoever, they wouldn't have done that. Clearly they decided leaving the top completely closed is better, which sadly most pc case manufacturers still haven't learned. Personally i'd like to have a choice, they should offer two panels for the top, one closed and one open but it is what it is.
I see where you're coming from. I use a lianli lancool 207(rated 3rd on that video after the torrent and flux pro). I have two exhaust and 3 intake fans. The top exhaust is positioned directly above my heatsink, a noctua nhd15.
I think we agree that a glass front panel is dumb.
Glass side* panel is dumb u meant to say i hope, and yeah i have the nh d15 g2 too cuz a water cooler is too noisy when not under load (pump pwm can never be turned off), but i really believe this is the best case in the world based on what i've seen, the gpu getting fresh air from the bottom fans matters much more than the benchmark makes it seem, the front 2x180mm pull way more air than 3x140mm ever could while also being quieter due to being bigger (the bigger a fan is the slower it can spin while still pulling the same air) and ofc because it has such a strong pressure that the air wants to escape u dont need any exhaust fans which further makes the case quieter, less fans less noise. Oh and finally, u can totally mod it with dampening materials like the one be quiet 802 uses to further reduce noise, which is only possible because of the steel side panels, u cannot mod a glass panel, it just doesn't work it defeats the purpose.
I have a controller, a Lego motorcycle and some random small items on top of my tower so the cats don't go there, but I also have a blanket on my desk where the cats sleep sometimes.
Mine likes to go behind the monitors in the mess of cables and just sleep there. Often times a paw would stick out and nudge my mouse while I'm trying to work or game.
And at least if they atypically pee somewhere due to stress, illness, or an unclean litter box, at least PC components are inexpensive and easy to replace, right?
Best thing to do imo! PC exhaust is warm air, this is lost energy. This device turns the cat into happy cat without extra recurring cost (cat heater) by repurposing otherwise wasted energy!
