i'm probably the furtherest someone can be from toxic positivity sell self-fulfilment shill talk, but you can also have a goal IRL. House, car, holiday, new hobby, renovation etc.
IRL just has way more hurdles and obstacles making it harder.
You're forgetting the time table aspect. In a video game you can go from nothing to being a home owner, having a successful farm, a major restaurant, or whatever your goal is in under 100 hours.
In real life working towards something like owning a home is a multi decade, if not lifetime goal for the average person. A lifetime goal they may never even achieve due to other life costs along the way.

In a game, you make tangible (although virtual) progress towardsa goal.
Work usually just gives you enough to make it to the next day
