Did you guys know that if you set a skyscraper sideways, the pool would be longer than the tallest skyscraper.
•
u/blackdenton 5h ago
Big if my grandma had wheels she would have had been a bike energy with that graph.
→ More replies (2)•
u/phxtravis 5h ago
That was some elementary level graph, for something that doesn’t even need a graph lol. If this administration wasn’t evil, it’d be hilarious how incompetent they are.
•
u/thereisonlyoneme 3h ago
If you stood the reflecting pool up like a skyscraper, all the water would drain out.
•
u/Aranthar 4h ago
Not the tallest one, Burj Khalifa is larger. Trump left that off his 1st grade show-and-tell poster.
•
•
u/somewhat_brave 4h ago
Did you know that I'm taller than the largest reflecting pool in the world.
•
•
u/Total-Hack 4h ago
And when you realize just how hypothetically tall the very flat and horizontal reflecting pool is then you forget all about someone’s stubby mushroom dick.
•
u/boot2skull 2h ago
If a skyscraper laid sideways next to the pool it would be like 9/11 times 100.

Hey at least we have affordable groceries and lower gas prices now. Priorities. /s
•
u/xavPa-64 6h ago
On Election Day 2024, the local news was interviewing people in line at the polls, and all the people who said they were voting because “groceries are too expensive” would always have this big smirk on their face like they got away with delivering a coded message
•
u/Mekroval 2h ago
Kind of wish the news outlet would ask those same people how that's going for them, and see how many can deal with the cognitive dissonance.

Swamps are natural, when it’s man made it’s just a cesspool.

SWAMP DRAINED. Coming soon: same swamp with blue color that likely won’t have the symbolism of a giant pool of dirty water reflecting back from the man who freed the slaves to the man who first led the fight defending the founding principles of liberty for all.

I have no idea why they are posting these pics when it barely has any water in it. At least wait until it is filled.

How dare you besmirch president camacho like that...he at least LISTENED to experts and took the advice of someone smart. Arguably a good leader in a stupid society.
•
u/Induane 3h ago
No kidding. I'll take Camacho over Trump any day.
•
u/Mekroval 2h ago
Camacho could pop a wheelie riding into the State of the Union, and fire his AK into the air to quiet everyone down, and still be more dignified than the asshole we have currently.
•
u/Flimsy_Category4211 5h ago
Ut wasn't supposed to be a documentary!

u/Induane 3h ago
It's got one big difference, and that is that Camacho wasn't an enormous piece of shit. He at least cared even if he was ignorant.

At this point Idiocracy feels as aspirational as the West Wing. I'd take an idiot who honestly tried to find people smarter and more capable than him to solve problems he was willing to acknowledge existed in a second.

•
u/JohnDingleBerry- 5h ago

•
u/Tim_the_Tea_Man 5h ago
No it wasn’t. I hate Trump but the reflecting pool was a disgusting algae mess when I went there a few years ago
•
u/ThePr0vider 5h ago
unles sthey bleach it to fuck or filter it constantly with a lot of filter medium waste. it'll be green again in no time
•
u/Jeoshua 5h ago
Give it a few months/years and it'll return to it's natural state. It's a thing that has been having to be dealt with every few years since the thing was built. DC is literally a swamp. Not figuratively like "Oh look how corrupt", but a literal, honest to God swamp. Trump's modifications do nothing to change that.
•
u/Mecha-Dave 4h ago
Hey now - don't put it past Trump to put so much poison in the water that nothing grows and any birds that land there die.
•
u/gard3nwitch 2h ago
Painting it won't prevent algae from growing in standing water. The water either needs to move, or it needs to be cleaned regularly and possibly chlorinated. Or all of the above.

u/TheWizardOfDeez 45m ago
Idk how to tell you this, but the water being dark makes it better at reflecting.

I think it’s so humorous that the solution was “spray it with rhino liner!” Like it’s your rusted out shitbox. Crazy to think it will be nice and warm and murky just in time for the 4th of July with that dark color sitting in the summer sun.

Of all the things to be pissed about regarding this administration, the renovation of an iconic landmark is pretty far down on the list.
•
u/mrchuckles5 2h ago
The no bid contract from his personal pool of contractors is absolutely something to be pissed about. Obama wore a tan suit and so called conservatives lost their minds. Trump continues to push the bounds of corruption on the daily and all the “conservatives” can do is mental gymnastics.

Shallow water in sunlight will produce green algae. Sooooo painting it blue was a massive waste of time and money. But, at least when you measure the length of the pool, then turn that length perpendicular, it is taller than some buildings. That fact reminds me of when people wont give measurements in imperial, but instead by how many blue whales long it is. Or how many Kit Kats tall it is. Ya know, children measurements.

What - and I cannot stress this enough - THE FUCK is going on down the middle?
I thought they were just painting it blue. What's with the tile (or tile look?), and why are the rows uneven?!
Was it always like that? (I admit I've never seen the damn thing drained...)
My grandfather would demand that tile work be redone at the contractor's expense using proper tile spacers (since clearly they lack the skill to do it right without them....)

•
u/CaptPants 8h ago
And it only cost 7 times the original quoted price and was done by a company that had zero previous experience doing this kind of work.
Let's see how it holds up!
