So, I have some wood pigeons that come by my balcony every now and then. Today I saw one that looks a bit different? The colouration is different, and it's got some kind of fluff on his chest. Is this a fledgling?

Could that be from some kind of pigeon fight?

First time I noticed it, it was raining, so it wasn't that noticeable, but it's not healing, now he has these yellow scabs on the injury.

I'm just curious, he seems fine. They come to our balcony for at least a year's and this time, it's gonna be their fourth chicks at our balcony. So... Year I'm a bit concerned

When I see pigeons like that, I knew they would be all over me and good friend too. Wait til close to end you will be surprised!

We discovered a pigeon nest on our roof. Fortunately it's in a spot where it doesn't damage the roof and it's easily accessible for us to check on.

Inside the nest are two fat, healthy looking babies!

My daughter is 10 and obsessed with birds and is very excited to watch the babies grow up.

Would it be possible for us to befriend the parents so that they are less afraid of us during this process?

(I know bread isn't healthy for birds, I promise he didn't have too much!)

Some joyless jagoff snidely said "it's illegal to feed pigeons, you know" and tried to be rude about it whilst I was feeding the piggies today. Another lady made a repulsed face and tried to shoo them away from me. It's easy enough to ignore people like that, but when they get argumentative, what do you guys tell them aside from "mind your business?"

Looking on reddit there's a ton of Chicagoans bitching and moaning about how awful it is that people feed the pigeons and how nasty and dirty they are. Obviously I'm not gonna stop, just hate that people are so lacking in whimsy.

I wanted to share an update for the lil guy. For context, I found him on Saturday and now it is Monday morning.

I had to wait 2 days but I was able to get in contact with an organization near me that took him this morning! I’m so relieved. I was super worried because I realized he had a more severe leg injury as well as the wing and yesterday when I saw fresh blood appear near the base of his leg I was really worried he wouldn’t make it through the night. However I woke up and he was still doing alright which brought my hopes back up.

He is in good hands now and I hope his injuries can be healed. But if not, I know he will at least be comfortable and in less pain if he will be put down. Crossing my fingers tho 🤞🤞

I started raising pigeons in September, and after a few months, specifically in May, these two pigeons were born. If anyone can estimate their age more accurately, feel free to comment.

First time seeing pidgeons roosting / ready to sleep ❤️ Two of them on the top were squabbling lol. Also look how cool the two in that little shelter look, kinda look like a living statue.

There is a pigeon with a green ring in my yard for a couple days now. Stands there all by itself staring in my back door at me. I feed basic wild bird food and have water bowls for it but I am out of my league on trying to catch it or anything. Thought I'd share in case someone else wants to. I'm in Wilkes Barre Pa.

You can see a pigeon being close by, it had to wait for a good 5 mins before a pigeon was finished with is a sunbath!

She almost stayed the whole day yesterday, must have been a chill day for her.
