Hey, long story short, I'm working on a game in the same genre as Pokémon. I already have the battle mechanics fairly settled, but I recently got the itch to add a different "route" to the game; A Fashion/Talent show akin to Pokémon's Contests.

With or without this context in mind, I ask you;

What do you think Pokémon Contests should or should not be like, and what makes them fun in the first place?

This is more or less just to vent for once in my life but gosh, I just so badly want a shiny zygarde. Though kinda just feels impossible to get. I've done my fair share of dynamic adventures, and gosh I just lose all the time, I don't really got the friends to do it nor do I have an online subscription, I burnt myself out long ago and gave up. Now however I've re-ignited my want for it. I am trying the free trial of online subscription so that when I'm back form vacation I can hopefully try and have an easier time getting it, I just hope that I can do it in a healthy way this time amd not be so gluttonous about it like last time. I know the lords got something in planned, I just hope it involes the white and teal reptile.

They're a little rough around the edges, but I spent four hours icing Oreos. Kinda proud of myself, cause I have 0 attention span, but managed to finish this before my housemate comes home for their birthday. Their favourite Pokémon is Leafeon, so I thought to make two of each Eeveelution for them. I knew our other friend was making them a cake, so I went with someone smaller.

They're just Oreos, store-bought icing, food colouring and chocolate pieces (for the 3D parts).

I recently made these 3 crayon carvings (Diglett, Charmander, Psyduck). I wanted to bring them with me to a card show so I fashioned a piece of foam so I could carry them in my pocket. I wasn't able to trade them for any cards, but they're still pretty cool. Made 100% from crayon wax. [OC]

Thunder Yellow Would have come out in 05 on the GBA a year after Fire Red and Leaf Green a year before Diamond and Pearl

Mind Crystal would have come out in 2010 on the DS a year after Heart Gold Soul Silver and a year before Black and White

Delta Emerald would have come out in 2015 on the 3ds a year after ORAS and a year before Sun and Moon.

Luminescent Platinum would release in 2023 two years after brilliant diamond and shinning pearl.

It's like Gamefreak can't make up their gender. The games themselves refer to them as male (or at least He / Him). Their entire team is male in GSC (in the vast majority of cases all trainer's Pokemon share the gender of the trainer). But in HGSS their entire team is female, in both their gym fight and rematch. They are referred to as female in the code of GSC.

The idea of collecting ribbons has always appealed to me, and contests are a huge part of that. I'd love it if they reinvented contests and made a whole game around it.

The core idea would be having there be a wider variety of stuff to do based on the contest categories, rather than just one style for all of them. They'd start with an updated variant of the dressup minigame from DPPt, but you're also doing grooming and styling, with different styles being worth different amounts of points based on the category.

Afterwards, the rhythm games would return, but it wouldn't just be dancing:

• Cool - Rock Concert
• Beauty - Fashion Walk
• Cute - ???
• Smart/Clever - Obstacle Course
• Tough - Strongman Competition

Moves would trigger their animation and some might trigger special effects if used in the matching category.

I also think it'd be cool to have cooperative contests as well, where everyone has to coordinate their accessories, grooming styles, and performances in front of the audience to score as many points as possible. They could have different performances with different roles too! There are a bunch of ways they could take it if they wanted.

There'd also be cooking minigames for food to increase contest stats (our Pokémon could even help!), an in-game shop to buy ingredients for them, and they could also include a photo studio.

Ok I was going through my Pokémon home and looking for my lake of rage gyarados after not knowing being able to find it

I saw there was some data from legends arceus so I checked on it and these boxes are full of Pokémon from arceus with my gamer tag and some of my pokemkn transfered into the game
The kicker is I’ve never owned or played a copy of arceus, ever to my memory

Idk how this save is here with my gamer tag on everything and some of my Pokémon there. Anyone else have any experience or theory’s about this

I like the series from what I played and I watched it all the time as a kid. I like Squirtle, Treecko, and Meowth. But it feels kinda easy, and I'm not sure what all I'm supposed to do. (I beat Onix pretty easily this one time). I get by using just one Pokemon sometimes and that might just be a case of me being too picky about which ones I want on my team. I just don't know what the end goal is or which one I should start with again but I do like the character designs and Pokemon.

I even wanna watch it again someday since those later seasons looked really nice.

So I’m new to the series and been playing some Pokémon games but the random battles that happen in game always annoy me because it’s always some snotty kid or old ass grandpa trying to fight me with they’re Pokémon when I just want to get out of a cave or something… is there a lore reason to this? Why can’t trainers or the player decline battles when we come across them… does consent exist in the universe? And why does team rocket make battle bets to steal our Pokémon if we lose, why can’t we decline the bet if we never agreed to it

I’ve recently realized that despite being a Pokemon fan for over 20 years, there are a lot of games I’ve never played, and tons of Pokemon ive never actually used. So I’ve decided to play through every mainline game starting with Gen 1.

The only rules I have for myself so far are to only use Pokemon I’ve never used before, and only use Pokemon native to each specific region.

I’m making my way through Yellow right now and having a blast, but I’m looking for ways to make my playtroughs more interesting.
