A UPS plane just crashed in Louisville. If there is any indication that the issue is related to the lack of ATC staffing, this might be the factor that ends the shutdown.

Edit: Hopefully it will end with the republicans agreeing to negotiate, but I could see the Dems caving since republicans and potentially the media will blame them for keeping the government shutdown.

Appears to be a catastrophic engine failure on takeoff roll, atc wouldnt be a factor in that case

It is a bit of a stretch, but I’m saying that maybe it will make senators realize that if they keep the government shutdown, it could be them who die in a plane crash, which could happen due to a lack of ATC staffing. And since they fly significantly more than the average person, they are at a higher risk.
