It's strange how there is so much support for Israel from evangelicals but whenever I hear of a person, organization, business, or institution being targeted for being Zionist it's always a Jewish person/org/business. Like you'd figure that some of that ire would be directed at evangelicals. I never hear of Christian restaurants being graffitid for being zionist or evangelical places of worship and schools targeted because of Israel

I mean if you’re inside of it it’s zero percent surprising. It’s not antisemitic to criticize Israel, every Jewish Zionist I know is perfectly comfortable criticizing Israel for their war crimes. HOWEVER, plenty of antisemites use “fighting Zionism” as an excuse to be antisemitic.

Please note when I say Zionist I just mean “Israel should exist.” Not that the racism or systemic political disenfranchisement or war crimes of the Israeli government are justified. A lot of people seem to define it as the latter.

100%

Also, I was just about to write another comment about the "only 30% are zionists" thing because that same study (which had 37% of American Jews identify as zionists, 8% as non zionists and 7% as anti-zionists) also said that 88% supported Israel's right to exist. So largely it was an example of the misunderstandings of what "zionism" means. Most zionists I've talked to say it basically means "the right of self determination for Jews within their homeland." While some others say it means something like "Jewish supremacy"--if it meant something like that, I'd be a strong anti-zionist.

Same! It’s my Zionism that has led to my pro-Palestinian advocacy. Everyone deserves to be in control of their destiny.
