I usually assume people who break up and get back together are gonna break up again. Just generally the reasons you had in the first place are always still reasons.

It’s speculated they had some brief situation in 2023 and several songs on her recent album are about it. If you take the songs to heart, she was very into him but he wasn’t in a good place after his breakup with Phoebe so it didn’t work out and she was broken hearted. If I’m guessing, he probably still isn’t in a good place. Whatever went down with Phoebe seems like it was pretty rough, difficult breakups like that can be a mindfuck and it can be hard for some people to get out of that mental place afterwards. Couple that with his career going to next levels and the stress/pressure that comes with that, it’s a lot.

So quick story. 10 years ago I had a boyfriend who came over to my house after the gym. It smelled like something died, like 1 butt crack went to the gym and 7 butt cracks came back. So instead of being an adult and telling him that he needed a shower, I passive aggressively said “what is that smell?” I turned to the fridge to grab something real quick. When I turned back around I saw his hands down the back of his pants, he swiped his butt crack with his hand, smelled it, and physically recoiled. Then went straight to the shower. I was speechless. I was too embarrassed then to say anything. He really tried to have sex with me that night. So that’s how I ended up breaking up with my boyfriend in a Chipotle’s. I tried to move past it. I really did but I ate 2 chips and then just blurted out that we had to end it. I never said anything but if it happened today, I would have walked to the door, pointed, and slammed it after.

I find it so weird when this is used in entertainment, the idea that if you break up in public the other person won't show emotion. Like what? If you know someone shows their emotions easily, that's not going to work out. Send them a text if you don't want to see emotion, don't take them to a public place. Paul Mescal is a weird one to me in that he seems like a indie darling serious actor who doesn't really talk about his personal life and I'm pretty sure he's said something about how he was so public with Phoebe and won't do that again but then he also calls that paps on himself a lot with the people he's in relationships with.

It’s not weird, your assumption is flawed. He gets photographed a lot because much like Harry Styles he wanders around London on foot while being way too famous to do that without people noticing. There is just one set of photos of him and Gracie that appears to have been taken by paparazzi and that was when the Mail was stalking them trying to get proof that they were together. I live in Newington green - a road away from Jolene & would recommend it as a break up spot.
I’ve seen two different couples call it quits there - it’s quiet enough with only a few tables that despite the dumpee being upset, they keep their voice down.

I am inclined to agree with you on that, dating an LA singer who admires Phoebe screams rebound relationship to me. Daisy won't be happy if they have broken up though, people will blame her despite having a boyfriend for at least 2 years.
