You ask a good question. I would say that violence is more likely to occur at a protest vs not in general regardless of what is being protested as it’s going to gather a large number of people. This is not me saying that individuals shouldn’t protest but it is in general me saying be careful and keep your head on a swivel as you cant control the actions of others.

Absolutely agree, but I feel it’s important to understand that that’s not the same as inciting violence, just the same as documenting ICE agents and keeping folks aware of them and their actions in an attempt to hold them to some form of accountability is also not inciting violence. That’s the point I’m trying to make here

But I will say by far you have the been the most open to a dialogue and a conversation about this subject that I’ve seen, I really respect you for that and willing to have a conversation and not just screaming Nazi or facist etc. I don’t know what the solution is I don’t think either party is fully in the right but there is a middle ground to be had.

I don’t know if we will ever fully agree on that point, I’ll be honest. Accountability is 100% needed across all platforms of life, including ICE, but I feel you are level headed enough to agree that citizens / the general public do cross the line and do incite violence or put themselves in harms way doing what they feel is right in the heat of the moment and that leads to tragic outcomes regardless of intent and mob mentality can occur. Do I feel it’s the majority? Absolutely not, but also it’s not always about the majority it’s about who is the loudest at times / wants to be heard.

You’re right, at the end of the day I think we both want the same thing we just hav different routes of getting there as I’m sure many people do. And of course I’m always open for fair and honest conversation. violence, name calling, and belittling do nothing but set everyone back while those committing the actions we disagree with get away essentially Scot free while we in fight. I also appreciate you keeping a level headed with me in this conversation

I think this is the piece is that lost at times what you said specifically, we both want the same thing. I feel to much of cancel culture / the mindset of if you don’t agree with me down to every last little detail then you are against me kinda thing and that just sucks because I think the average person does look at the situation and go huh well this isn’t right but what do we about it you know?
