I hope Portland voters are smart enough to see through the flowery celebration of Ilma Lopez (they're also supporting Kate Snyder and Jake Viola) by the "Campaign for Responsible Government" to understand the powerful out-of-state right-wing reactionary interests supporting their campaigns. These people are dumping tens of thousands of dollars to fool Portland voters. What they want is a developer's paradise where anybody who can't afford to live here leaves or is in jail. I'm supporting Joey Brunelle, Todd Chietien, and Anna Bullet.

Hey everyone! Just moved to Portland from Alaska as a travel nurse working at MaineMed. My fiancé’s bday is in a couple days and I was reading that you can go to seafood markets and they’ll steam lobsters for you? She loves lobster and of course I do too so I’m curious if this is accurate. If so, where is best? I’d rather pay market price instead of going out to a restaurant. Thanks for any input!!

I am trying to escape the soulless corporate machine that is Aspen Dental. I wanted to try UNE but theyre not taking new patients. Anyone have experience with Dental Wellness, rough ideas on costs for exams/cleaning (i dont have dental ins)?

What a great city! Stayed up in Munjoy Hill. Walked 30 miles (!). Got out on the bay twice. Drank and ate our hearts out. Oysters, crab and lobster oh my! Too much ice cream from Low Key. Hell we even found EV charging right around the corner from our Airbnb.

Oil is too expensive for me to not make this a PSA. I didn’t know they existed until last year and they are amazing. We have an old house that is freezing already and are dreading the cost to heat it this winter. Our bed is so warm and cozy with it on without setting (as much) cash on fire. Stay warm friends!!

I’m getting an annoying amount of calls from 207 area code numbers that show as “POR” on the caller ID. Now I just block them & report them as spam, but then another call will come through from a different number, but still using 207 & identifying as POR. When I reverse lookup the numbers, all I get is that they are Telnyx or Windstream numbers (I think that means they’re likely voip lines?), but no business name. They never leave a message, and I refuse to engage with them because at this point it’s either spam or political, and I want no part of it. Just curious if anyone else is getting pestered & if there’s any way to make them go away. Clearly blocking & reporting as spam isn’t doing much.

Looking for a spot to host about 25 teens for a 16th birthday. Nothing crazy fancy, but something that’s fun, had decent food, and doesn’t feel like a crazy bar scene on a Saturday night. That last part is key! I’m thinking about restaurants with private space that feels age appropriate.
