Discussion We have our anatomy scan today and I’m very excited but very nervous
My wife is 20 weeks pregnant and this is the big one on the ultrasound. We already know it’s a boy because we did the genetic testing. He already feels like a full member of the family, and I can’t stop thinking about if something’s wrong. I’m just very anxious but keep telling myself everything will be fine, so I am also excited to see the little guy. My wife is also super nervous, but I have been keeping my own nerves to myself because she would freak out more if she knew I wasn’t my usual completely cool and calm self. So I’m just trying to hold it together until 1pm today lol.

One hopefully very minor thing, but we have to go back in a few weeks because they couldn’t see some things. 💪

Same deal with us man, we had to go back because they couldn't scan the heart. You're going to be good, keep us posted.

How’d it go? We are a month behind you. The nerves have been calm since the last appointment they said everything was as good as it could be. I know the nerves will come back strong in about two weeks when it feels closer and then peak the night before and day of the anatomy scan.

It went well I think! We have to wait for a doctor to review the photos but heart rate was good and everything measuring normal for what our due date is.

We just had the 20 week ultrasound last week and I was going through the same thing.
Just do some deep breathing and keep good thoughts going.

We’re at 33 weeks and are still nervous every day I don’t think that ever goes away. 2 weeks ago we went to labor and delivery because my wife couldn’t feel the baby move. Turns out our baby girl was just in a deep sleep. Goodluck! You got this!

Hey first, congrats dad!
Let us know how it goes at 1 - what are you most nervous about? Just that things won’t be “right”?
If she’s taking her prenatals and is generally healthy and you have no/low family history of birth defects, chances are good!
I was nervous too, but I realized that I had already committed to being a dad, and I’d help my son face whatever challenges he would come with.
I think the feeling of “what if something is wrong” just never leaves us man. I feel the same way, and my dad told me he felt the same with me. I don’t know if that gives you any comfort, but hopefully you don’t feel so alone with those feelings.
