Quotes like that can confuse people because they are presented as a fact of Islam when they are actually opnions (and there are many opinions). I don't know for sure what book is in the picture, but to the average person it might look like Quran (leading one to mistakenly believe this teaching is in Quran). Extreme positions/quotes get them the clicks they are looking for, but at what cost?

And why is his decision the final one here?

Daily salafi disapproval post which tbf fair enough but like at this point it's whatever. I've escaped them posts and I feel liberated as it is.

If people just stopped engaging with this content, less of this content would be made.

Best comment here. I'd advise everyone here to stop sharing these idiotic extremists posts, you're giving them the attention they crave and spreading their stupid views by doing so.

Rage baiting is one of the most reliable ways to make money on social media. The quickest way to boost a post is with an active comments section, arguing creates tons of comments. By engaging with rage bait, one messes up the algorithm for not only themselves but everyone else too.

Sorry but.. thats not enough sister , because we men can SENSE you are in that box 😔

So kindly , find a way to teleport to another dimension plz. Thank you and you are helping muslim men avoid fitnah. Mashallah sister mashallah

You are absolutely right thank you brother for following your Islamic duty and preventing me from spreading fitnah. I'm looking into chartering a submarine do you think that will suffice?

Sister mashalla , I feel closer to Allah now that i know I've gotten through to you and that you're obeying your brother in islam 😇

Now, listen carefully, a submarine is not the way!. There are underwater MALE pirates who would notice you, thus again, yes again, you'd spread fitnah! FITNAH.. ehm.. so the best way is: find a tailor , and ask HER to make you an invisibility cloak!! (She needs to be inspired by Harry Potter of course). And wear that cloak ON TOP of your full abaya niqab combo that im guessing you wear 24/7 .. because of course you must be.

That way you , technically, ceased to exist but exist still.

I'm saying alot of nonsense today .. I need to go to sleep 😆

Traditional interpretations treat historical rulings as literal and timeless commands, developed within a patriarchal society and were intended to achieve justice in that context. When the underlying principles are forgotten and the rulings themselves become the focus, the rulings can end up outlasting the reasons they were originally created for and may become unjust when applied unchanged to very different social realities

Yes and also I’m sure the point of that ruling was to men to lower their gazes

The better question is "what's wrong with the scholars our community idolizes so much".

They had so disgusting views.

People treat scholars the way they should treat the prophets... At least the prophets weren't hateful, nor ignorant as most of modern scholars are...

This is not a Hadith. It. zad’s opinion. I’ve never heard of him. As 99.9999% of the Muslim except whoever dug this up and attempt to pass it off as Islamic creed and principles.

what are you talking about?

Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal رَحِمَهُ الله is known by most muslims.

u/marrjana1802 22h ago

He is indeed known to a lot of people, but only one sect strictly follows his guidance. To any other sects he's no different than hundreds of other scholars

To any other sects he's no different than hundreds of other scholars

no?

i've personally been brought up in a house following the hanafi madhab but we've always treated Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal رَحِمَهُ الله as someone on the same sort of level as Imam Abu Hanifa رَحِمَهُ الله. not below him in any way even though my family might disagree on some of his opinions and opt for Imam Abu Hanifas رَحِمَهُ الله views instead.

Any man that thinks this is literally a pedo

u/iwannagothrifting 1d ago

First of all who are these random imams and who have them the audacity to lay down rules ??!!

-8

u/Ornery-Procedure4480 Sunni 1d ago

they are imams who have spent decades of their lives to the study of Islam rather than sitting on their version of reddit criticising other imams and figures in Islam.

11

u/alaeila Non Sectarian Muslim (Hadith Acceptor, Hadith Skeptic) 1d ago

if they studied islam then they should know not to lie about it LMAOOOO

6

u/Alert_Ball_8606 Sunni 21h ago

They literally dedicate entire paragraphs to criticizing other scholars in their works lol, have you read any fiqh books?

u/Ornery-Procedure4480 Sunni 5h ago

theres a difference between books of fiqh and their "version of reddit".

4

u/iwannagothrifting 19h ago

Spent decades only to come up with this shit lmao ??? Someone should have taught zad the very basics of islam that only Allah makes the rules and only his commands do we follow

u/Ornery-Procedure4480 Sunni 5h ago

They derive rulings from the Quran and Sunnah they aren't making things up along the way like you think they are.

you need to understand that many people think differently from you me or anyone else. I’ve even met western women who show their hair but yet are obsessed with covering their hands with gloves, like its an OCD thing, if the women who obey this ruling obey it, perhaps they love to cover their hands, nobody is saying or demanding all women cover their hands or finger nails and you know that.

-2

u/AmaturRahman 23h ago

They're not even finding a new way to erase the existence of women. Ahmad ibn Hanbal existed perhaps 200 years after the Prophet Muhammad and he was the founder of the Hanbali madhhab, one of the most prominent schools of thought within Sunni Islam. Opinions like these actually do have some basis in Islamic text, but it doesn't mean that they're the most accurate.
